That horrible night in Manama in 2001 still remains the absolute darkest and saddest TM memory for me.

Still yet to be topped....today is definitely in the top 5 though

He is saying that because he knows he will have slim chance with team melli after CQ is gone. He brought disaster to Persepolis club and buried his talents in Qatari desert despite CQ asking him to go to Europe and all of his big talks about LaLiga offers. Velasco and CQ are not a good comparison. Before Velasco Iran was almost nothing on the map but before CQ Iran was always a contender for Asian Cup and usual World Cup team we nearly lost on 2002 and 2010.

The one thing which sorrows me, is the part that the player are 100% behind CQ, this is a very bad situation, usually Coaches leave a team, because the communication between the Team and the Coach doesn't work anymore, but our TM is 100% behind him. This situation will be very tough for any Coach who comes after CQ. This is a very dangerous situation like it could be a moment in Iranian football - also because of our current political situation - where we completly break apart.

This game could have gone either way. We were playing pretty decent until 5 of our defenders forgot their duty and went to complain to referee. We could have still made a comeback but that penalty just destroyed our team's spirit and no turning back from that point.

One thing our players need to work on though is taking a loss with grace. Why the hell are they fighting. What are we going to achieve by slapping a japanese?

Is it ok to smash something? Preferrably the faces of our 5 stooges who just decided to run for a chat with the ref in the middle of the game? Against Japan?!

Not everyone can understand the passion that we have for Iran's football specially our Team Melli. For me personally Iran's sport is one of the biggest if not the biggest passion of my life. Some Iranian colleagues were making fun of me today at work for taking this loss seriously and being very upset.
              Why can't they just understand...

In some ways, you should feel sorry for them.

                  They don't feel.

                  You do.

I think most people who come to this website are avid TM fans and we all sharing the same emotions. Everyone have their own ways of coping, for me I took a hot shower after they scored the third goal, yes did not watch it till the end, and sang my heart out such as ey Iran anthem and etc. Then comes the video gaming which is a good distraction.. too much emotions can be wearing. So ya good luck

We are use to this....agar hollywood siahlashkare gerye mikhast iraniha are the best candidate since we are use to losing in the most important events for our country...Khiabani would be the Robert Deniro of this siahlashkar..

But losing this GUY, THIS GUY is the most painful thing. Love you Carlos.

My brother...our culture, society is beautiful and not to blame for our footballing follies. You may cry but what if I told you from the bottom the only direction is up? Yes this is a low...perhaps we we're naive to think after 8 years our tactics wouldn't be found out. This is now a chance for a new beginning and if done right only sweeter memories. Let's learn from our past and grow!

Just TM and it's glorious fans! Time to move forward. Round of 16 in 2022 must be our goal!

I would respectfully say that I disagree to the extent that I believe in the absolute polar opposite of your statement.

The only way we can go now is down. We have taken a lot of things for granted, I don't think we will see a coach, and a national team infrastructure, as good as this again.

You can cry as much as you want, but I will tell you that there is no point in crying as nothing will be accomplished. We have already been kicked out of the tournament and lost our coach. We must look further on to the next wc qualifying games...
