Honestly, what makes me sad is not that CQ leave, or because of the players but foremost because of
the Iranian people, who suffer so much from politics/economy and were not gifted with a little joy, which would
      be to win the title.

I just realized, I would feel a little better about the elimination had we gotten revenge on Iraq for 2015. We leave the Asian cup with no victories to be really proud of

                Always a giver.

In his last act of giving back to the Iranian people, Carlos Querioz gifted a rug, which was made for him, to a women from Khuzestan. She had simply thanked his unmatched dedication to Iranian football. In the take-take world of Iranian football, it's amazing to see such a giving and generous man.

You will always be in our hearts Carlos.

                  Carlos' Departing Words

He did a final interview with Adel.

                  ------------------

                  Dear Adel,

Open letter to one Team Melli fan:

Thank you for the opportunity for me to share my last personal and professional feelings and thoughts in one last interview with you, as Iran National Team Football Coach. I did it without sleeping since my last game and I was exhausted. It was painful and agony to finish with a defeat. It was our Team dream to make it different and offer to Iranian Football fans one happy end. It was not possible, but as always, my players try them best and fight as much as possible to bring pride and joy to the Nation. As always, they try to put Team Melli shirt in one higher and better position. I think they deserve peace, respect, and appreciation for all they did for the Iranian People during the last 8 years. I do believe that it is not the time for criticism but time for one opportunity to improve with the positive (and for sure some negative) lessons from our wonderful journey and adventure of 100 games and 8 years, of professional dedication and commitment to Team Melli cause. We are proud of ourselves knowing that we spread all over the World one respectful image and prestigious reputation for Iranian football and the Country. We are proud of ourselves knowing that internally the people praise glory and feel happy with our performances and achievements.

That is what matters in our professional football lives. To always know what we play for. No matter the difficulties and adversities we faced we did our way and we did together for them, the People.

Let the People with freedom make the final assessment and judgments without malicious public manipulations.

                  Finally,

My enormous gratitude to my Players, my best football family ever. Love you all.

My tribute and gratitude to my dedicated, competent and loyal staff. Love you all.

My respectful gratitude to Iran Football for conceding the honour of serving Team Melli fans. Love you all.

My eternal gratitude to This Country and Iran People for allowing me the privilege to call this place home where part of me stay behind. Love you all.

Wishing you Peace and Happiness from the bottom of my heart my votes,

                  TO THE FUTURE
