Without repeating that in 76 there weren't enough competitive teams to fill even a 12 team tournament and now there are enough for 24, here's why your logic is insane: Qatar has not played 23 effing teams or the top 23 teams or whatever your feeble mind is trying to convince you of. They have played Saudi, Korea, and Japan, as well as the host nation. These are, by any criteria, harder matches than the ones we faced in 76, and we did it at home while Qatar has played in front of hostile crowds throwing things at them. For anyone over 12 to need something this simple spelled out for them is mind boggling.

not sure what youre trying to prove. qatar played 6 games without conceding a goal. within these games they beat the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place of the last tournament. out of the 6 participating teams in 1976 IN IRAN we beat 4 - none of them were within the top 4 the 5 tournaments before (except for china).

True but we had just four games in the whole Competition. ( against Iraq, South Yemen, Kuwait and China)
Qatar had played 7 games. (KSA, Libanon, Northkorea, Iraq, UAE, Korea and now Japan)
