unlucky for zenit not to get a draw. Not enough good balls to dzyuba or sardar. Dzyuba missed one free header and azmoun shot blocked on line were there only chances.
Hope two games without a win will force board to get a few more key signings over the line.

not really. Before sardar came last year they struggled in many games. Esp away from home like this game vs a solid very defensive team it will always be hard.
That why RPL is a higher level than eridivisie, portugal, etc. The smaller teams are a lot harder to walk all over bc they are physical, very tactical, and disciplined.

Maybe you’re right. According to many Zenit fans online Sergei Semak is not a manager to take this Zenit team very far and the fans claim the reason Zenit won the league in 4 years time is because of sheer individual skill. I’m starting to believe what they say which is a shame because he is kind manager to his players and fights for them. Unfortunately, playing like this against Ufa and 10-man Akhmat Grozny will not translate well into the CL, they will get destroyed.

Zenit’s buildup play and delivery is killing them at the moment. when you play with two forwards up top you need to make use of them and get the ball to them otherwise you’re wasting resources. Tough loss.

they've been playing with the same , nearly identical formation and tactics for over a year now ..... even the tokhmy league teams have caught on and figured a way to counter it..!
coach needs to add a bit of variation to their overall tactics or like you said they're going to get worked in CL by far higher caliber of team..!
the current, too wing heavy, all out attacking tactics leave them awful vulnerable to frequent swift counters ....especially as sloppy as they seem in the passing in the attacking half of the pitch...!
their Captain and Ratiski dude save their asss numerous times against those counters with a late challenge but that wont be the case vs the more ruthless, high quality attacking lines they'll be facing in CL..!
