first half done. 3-0 Zenit.
This has been their most impressive league performance thus far and against a high flying opposition.
They have completeley suffocated rostov, who have struggled to get out of their own half. Zenits build up and passing is so clean and fast compared to before, creating many good openings.
Sardar has been very solid overall. Typically great linkup play, and took his goal very well, initially had a weird touch but fired the volley in with his weaker left foot. Angle seemed to be too tight so GK wasnt expecting it and flew over his head. He had another chance where shatov squared it to him but dzyuba basically blocked his shot.
I think he will play the next 20 mins or so, hopefully bag another goal, and then take the last half an hour off in preparation for leipzieg match!Comment

Dzyuba has been in unreal form lately as well for both club and country. Aging like a fine wine.
Really hope Zenit can carry this form to CL in mid-week. Avoid loss in Germany vs. Leipzeig and I think they have one foot in the next roundComment

azmoun with pre assist for a brilliant zenit 4th. Unselfish, could have forced it himself but chose right play going to dzyuba, who clipped a cross for overlapping RB karavaev who roofed it home. Karavaev has also been brilliant tonight and is a fantastic young addition from Vitesse in Holland (he was also highly rumored to go to ajax in summer).Comment

his hustle has been tremendous. First to initiate press and then making lung busting runs into defensive third to track a runner that his out of position teammates couldnt get to.

The very fact he put in such a successful 90 today shows how much he has improved his stamina and mentality after coming off a difficult international break with TM, both in terms of fatigue and mental wear and tear.Comment

Sardar is definitely thriving. Such a run by him on minutes 90+ and after such an active and resultful match participation was not even imaginable 2 years ago. He is giving us hope almost every weekend and with his great performance in CL matches so far. His unselfish plays making the whole team better while his thirst for scoring never ends.
