Russia is trying to grow RPL as a more international league. Although many of the teams still play tactically outddated, slow, defensive football there are many giant teams that provide good spectacles, if not always high quality matches. Zenit, Loko, Spartak, CSKA, Krasnodar being the main ones. I will say as somebody who has regularly watched RPL, these games dont always provide high quality, but the atmosphere is really second to none in europe, and that alone means they can attract a viewing audience, espeically with free HD streaming and english commentary.
Zenit are 10 pts clear, it will be interesting to see how motivated they are for rest of season now that they have been totally knocked out of europe and the gap between them and second is quite large. They will be well rested so no need to worry about fatigue.
Sardar currently sits on 11 goals and 6 assists across all comps this season, I think he can double this tally in what remains. a 20 goal, 10 assist following last years 17 and 7 (impressive because half of the time he was at shitty rubin), would mean nearly 40 goals and 20 assists average in a two year period, including many good european performances. The sample size is just undeniable if he can finish this season strongly.
If he could propel zenit to back to back titles, maybe the cup as well, it would be a great note to leave on.

this saturday, 8am for those on West coast, Zenit lokomotiv. Will be the first league match of second half of season, after long winter break.
Correction: Krylia Sovetov vs Orenburg will be the 1st league match this Friday (tomorrow) with their new signings Kuat, Mamadou Sylla, Zeffane and Saafa Hadi. The match time is 7:30 AM (Pacific).

scrappy Zenit can't really get anything going in the final 3rd of the pitch without Dz and Azmoun ..!!
so this KooKorin guy couldnt even crack the starting line-up with both missing..?
if things stay same, Sardar will probably get just a few 10-15 last minutes .... if they fall behind then surely he'll be brought on rightaway, sick n all that..!
