Did you notice azmoun (and at a lesser extent taremi) are the only Iranian with a rumor (napoli) that is lasting. The same can be said with Taremi (sporting, benfica)

Respect your opinion but it is not really a question at all. Look at the two squads. Look at some of napolis results this season...beating juve, beating liverpool, drawing liverpool in anfield, drawing barca (should have won).

They are in a different stratosphere to zenit, one look at their midfield can tell you that.

Their low position in the league, for the first time in 7 years or something (besides that they have been top 3-4), is not indicative of a bad team, but an inconsistent one, that had many issues off the field prior to ancelotti sacking. With gattuso their form has stabilized a lot. They will beat juve and liverpool one week then next week lose to brescia. This seems like a lack of focus.

anyways, Im not sure why this is even in question. We have seen zenits max, finished last in CL group, had some ok performances but nothing major, win russian league rinse repeat. In football if you do not progress you will stagnate! We have seen this with sardar before (remember rostov, rubin after his great campaign).

If you ask me, sardar is just at the level required for a team like napoli, he is not a better finisher than a top class player like mertens and is at a pretty similar level to milik, hard to argue he is a better player right now. In the end they may even opt for another target, leaving sardar with shitty PL or remaining in russia another year, which would be pretty ridiculous, even if you ask himself.

100% Napoli does show better results against better teams like Juve, Barca, Liverpool,... And as you said, Napoli had always shown good results against big clubs and lost to bad clubs and thats why they couldnt win the Serie A although they played really good seasons!

He shouldnt go to any EPL club! Instead of an EPL Club I would prefer him at Napoli thats for sure.

If it’s true the difference in valuation is 5 mil EU. I think the two sides can find a middle ground there/some performance related bonus package. 25 and 30 are really very close. If napoli didn’t went to go above 15-20 then that would be concerning

Napoli are increasingly confident of completing a deal for Zenit St Petersburg forward Sardar Azmoun, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

However, there are still details to work out. Zenit are said to want at least €30 million (£27m/$33m), while Napoli won't go above €25m (£22m/$28m).

I disagree, 5 mil is still a decent size gap....enough to not find a middle ground. 1 or 2 mil you could confidently assume they would but when azmoun has as many suitors as he does what’s holding zenit back from entertaining Everton and other premier league teams that can easily match their 30 mil price tag?

none of those teams have pursued him so far the way napoli have. Additionally everton for example do not need a CF the way napoli do, they have richarlison and calvert lewin.

Anyways, it depends on napoli's alternatives. From other media speculation their alternatives to azmoun are a similar level but roughly 2x the price (belotti, osimhen, etc). Then a 5 mil price gap pales in comparison.

ofc who even knows if there is truth to these numbers. Maybe zenit would gladly take 25 if it were guaranteed, maybe napoli are only willing to go to 25 with a combination of bonuses. who knows. Again, it is clear real interest exists. I doubt napoli will even try to finish a deal for azmoun right now, it would put them in a weaker position when trying to sell milik.
