he is too good of a footballing talent to waste away too many of peak years of his career in Russian league and not take a plunge if a the right team in top 2-3 leagues shows interest in his services..!
nonetheless ftb, the smart move would be to stay put for at least another year in Zenit and enjoy being a likely key, 90min starter in highly attacking, somewhat formidable team at CL next year..!! even if they fail to progress past CL group stage, but he shows promising form, he can still move next winter..!!
In short, it all depends who comes knocking for him ...!!?? say if Liverpool were to shows interest again, then he'd be a fool to stay put @ Zenit even past this season..!

Begin.
Zenit striker Serdar Azmun can continue his career in the UK championship. According to the Federal news Agency, 24-year-old striker of St. Petersburg in the summer can change the club registration – it is of interest from "Everton" and "crystal Palace".
According to the source, Azmun's name appears in the short lists of both clubs, but the negotiation process has not yet begun. It is reported that the Premier League clubs estimate the cost of a possible transfer in the amount of about 20 million euros. In addition, the football player is watched by representatives of the clubs of the German championship.
In the "Zenith", according to the FAN, appreciated the Iranian striker and want to keep Asana in the team for next season. However, if more than 30 million euros will be offered for it, the St. Petersburg club can give consent to the transition. Such a high cost of Azmun is due to the fact that in the transfer agreement between Rubin and Zenit Kazan club is due a percentage of the subsequent sale of the forward.
Azmoun moved to the St. Petersburg club from FC Rubin Kazan in February of this year for 12 million euros. His contract is valid until the summer of 2022. After transition in "Zenith" on account striker 12 matches in which he scored 9 goals and double-assisted partners on command.
In total, this season for Zenit and Rubin Azmun scored 14 goals and gave 6 assists in 29 meetings. Since 2014, he has been called to the Iranian national team, for which he played 43 games and scored 27 goals.
These are the teams that will forget about Azmun. Not the Champions League, not the Euroleague.

I agree with you BacheLot it would be good advice for him to stay at Zenit for another season and get another good run out in the Champions League. He obviously fits in well to the team and is enjoying his football.
However i feel that if Zenit get their asking price for him then they will sell him.

reading that tid-bit posted by premier .... it almost sounds like Zenit are actually whoring him off actively pursuing his offloading this summer? and mainly looking to cash-in on him while he is riding high...!!
perhaps they learned from Berdiyev's mistake a couple of years back..??
ps
another interesting tid-bit from the article was how Birdman put a clause in his current Zenit contract to get a percentage from his likely soon sell-on ..! he knew all along, that his own ultra defensive system of play was not conducive to Sardar's proving his offensive potentials..! perhaps that's why he only seriously negotiated his sell to two highly attacking clubs last winter (wolves/zenit)..!
