Lazio is by far the superior team and Serie A is by far the superior league. The competition that he will be facing at Serie A would prove to be more of a challenge than weaker teams (e.g. Ural, UFA, Tula, Sovetov, etc...)

Tottenham or Liverpool would be good teams for him, he has the potential to do well for them! Another team that comes to mind is Atletico Madrid, that is if he continues to perform as he did in his in his first half year at Zenit. In that case he will be playing for a top club in England, Spain, Germany or Italy in 2 years time. We could have our first real superstar in Azmoun!

Originally posted by Dortmund View PostIf the Leverkusen interest comes back he should jump on that, better league, better team and champions league. I just don't think Lazio is a good move in the long run.
However, if he doesn't get an offer from leverkusen, it's tough to say what's better between Zenit and Lazio. Like everyone here mentioned, they both have their ups and downs.
If he moves to lazio and does really well, he'll have a great chance at making it to a top Serie A team in no time.
Then again, if he kills it at Zenit again next season and does well in the champions league, he might have an even better chance at attracting top clubs.
Considering he's already at Zenit and will play in CL next season, I think he should stay at Zenit and just focus on having the best season of his life, so he can make a big move.

reported back for pre season training on time.first time in a while. He has always had slower starts to seasons because of international duty with iran, being given extra time off, etc, etc. Good to see him back early and determined for a strong season. Another strong performance in RPL and a few of his classic european nights and the chatter will go way up.

Whatever is thought of the Russian League or whether Zenit is better than worse than another team, to me what is important is that Sardar seems the most happy he has been in his career in a long time. He looks comfortable and confident where he is and this can only be a good thing for Iran as he is very much a confidence player.

Sardar is maturing and gelling well with his teammates. I think it will do him a lot of good if he stays at Zenit with the following specific measurable goals:
1- lead his team to CL second round (or at least a Europa League birth) by scoring crucial goals,
2- win another RPL championship and
3- win the RPL golden boot.
Go Sardar!
