This is not a good choice at all... Typical Iranian mentality, they want to get a big "name" coach. Emphasis on the name and not on the coach, always the same idiotic mentality!

They need to hire a good young coach who has patience to work with the youth programs and is willing to spend good amount of time in Iran.

There is plenty of good coaches in France Germany and Spain who can do this job someone with experience in Asia /South America / Africa would-be ideal as most of those contenants have sub standards facilities and Incompetant fédérations.

I disagree. IFF broke no rules in not signing CQ again, even though it was the wrong decision. Just as with sanctions, only the people will suffer with a ban.

I am an Milan fan, and I had the pleasure or displeasure as having Montella coach my team. I´d say this: His style does not at all fit well with our players. He wants to play technical and beautiful offensive football, and that will work against poorer teams in Asia, but just wait till we face the better teams in Asia like Japan or in the WC, we´d lose 4-2 or something like that with his style of playing. He does not fit at all with, what we need and that is a continuation of CQ´s defensive mind with some better offensive tactics.

Taj who is head of IFF, very much wanted to extend CQs contract, but was specifically ordered not to by the sports minister who works for the government. It is clear case of government interference.
