He was a great talent - burst on the scene as a two-footed free kick specialist who had good game-reading abilities and a thunderous long shot/

Youngest IPL player of the year at just 22.

If it wasnt for the hasoodi of one man and the money lost from a transfer he didn't want, his peak international years would have been spent on the pitch rather than at home.

Regardless, a great footballer and may he enjoy retirement

I can not believe he's 36 years old!

It was like yesterday he was playing in U23 TM together with Navidkia, Kaebi, Kazemian, Borhani, etc.

I used to look at them as kids! That makes me old!

I liked him as a player.

He used to be the "Iranian Sniper" for TM before Ando took the job from him.

Since then we have not found a replacement.

Great player. Still remember his amazing year in 2004-2005 when he took Foolad to the IPL championship.

That tackle on Ali Daei in 2005 killed his career....

More like Branko's irrational stupidity than Daei's

From what has become clear with the passage of time, it wasn't Daei himself who sabotaged Iman's international career because of that tackle... It was more hasoodi and pure serpentship by our trademarked "mr gentleman"

(One thing no one can take away from Daei is, even when he is pissed off with a youngster, he will forgive them. He has been one of the best advocates for youth in iranian football).

Why would the coach be jealous of a player? Sorry I am not aware of the story behind this.

Coach wasn't jealous of a player. Coach was annoyed that he didn't receive the bung money for a move he had engineered and stood to gain financially from because didn't want the move. Coach became petty and dropped player completely, at a time when player was IPL best player award winner at age 22 and was performing very well for national team.

Talent wasted by going to UAE along with Kazemian, Madanchi and many others.

Precisely. You should add Ali Karimi to that list since he was the biggest talent of all but because of pure laziness decided to waste his youth in UAE.

Regarding Mobali I remember watching an intervirew with him and Ferdowsipour where he mentioned that he aims to play for AC Milan very soon. Pity it never materialized.
