Congrats to our young players for advancing with a dominant performance. I watched parts of the second half and while the individual technical levels are high team work and looking for open feet needs a lot of work. The team leaves a lot of open spaces in the middle and defense looks vulnerable in many occasions. If they don't attend to these weaknesses they will have a tough time against stronger Asian teams.
The Cast - Host: Bahrain.Group Winners: Tajikistan (A), India (B), Islamic Republic of Iran (C), Saudi Arabia (D), Qatar (E), United Arab Emirates (F), China PR (G), Australia (H), DPR Korea (I), Japan (J), Korea Republic (K).Best Runners-up: Yemen (E), Indonesia (G), Uzbekistan (B), Oman (D).
U16 consist of many talented players in every position specially at Offense.Amiri, Rostami, Koushki backed by Danesh are talented and very creative players and work together well.
Defense line of Ghasemi, Salahi, Saghafi, Mohammadi is good but made many individual mistakes that can cause serious damage in the next round and has to be fixed.
Arshia Karimi ( C) and Bahri were not utilized for their talents. Karimi and Bahri are not as effective as defensive MF, and they were not in harmony with D line. This problem need to be addressed.
U16 did not observe fair play few times when opponents players were on the ground ,that has to change.
Wilmots watched U16 versus Afganistan.
Abdi's contract ended after the game. Lets hope IFF does not extend his contract and select a better coach.
From coaching of Damash, Oghab, Sarcheshmeh to Phd education and Moreton bay Football club and now Australia U16.
Compare his education, experience with that of with Iran U16 coach Abdi.
