Tractor Sazi’s owner is a billionaire who owns an airline company on the side. I can’t say this about other clubs as the economy is dealing with a crisis at the moment. But Tractor is keeping their players fed and taken care of. Those guys look like they’re having fun playing football and 3 of them are towards the end of their careers (Ashkan and Masoud) and are very much so enjoying playing football these days.

Stokes, Sugita, Hajsafi.. all of them are happy with big grins on their faces. I wish all of our clubs would treat their players the same way

We are in crucial times ladies and gentlemen.

I know most would disagree but I would be in favor of having foreign investors and owners like in England.

That'd be actually an amazing idea, however with the current state of affairs in Iran who would wanna gamble their money in a country where stability is pretty much non-existent? Add to it the chaotic status of our football being manipulated and exploited by the government!

I think the bigger question is.. would the government even allow it? A foreign investor controlling a slice of the most politicized sport in Iran? I'd be willing to bet whatever team that is would win IPL in less than 3 years and make the current owners of other teams look suspect, inefficient, and corrupt. The opposite of what IR wants us to believe.

Foreign owners are ok as long as they don't change the identity or name or use it as a means of venture capitalism.

You mean like: IKEA Tabriz vs STARBUCKS Isfahan at EMIRATES Stadium?

In all seriousness as someone else as said , I think the question shouldnt be should more foreign players be allowed but should their be a better quality of foreign player in the IPL and the answer to that is yes. I’m not expecting Xavi, or someone like a Chielinni but more players along the line of Stokes who have played International level for a good team and played in a top league.
Maybe even look at getting some of these South American players that the MLS teams are finding, players along the lines of Almiron and Martinez that were scouted by Atlanta.Which shows that a better scouting system needs to be in place for these teams, especially those at the high end of the league. I know it’s a completely different level of football but Leicester brought Mahrez for example for 450k when they were in the Championship due to having a brilliant scouting structure.

Most important thing is that the development of young Iranian players takes precedence and the money that could be used to buy these foreign players is put into improving facilities and training etc for the youth players and making sure that the quality of the next generation of Iranian players is top notch.

I wouldn't mind that. Change the stadium names if a sponsor is willing to put money down for it.

The USA model is sorta what I support and like and would think Iran should do the same. You have foreign investors coming in and investing in the league and helping the league grow. (David Beckham is a good example with him buying a Miami team)
Our young players that have potential to grow and get somewhere should be going to Europe anyways since that's the highest level of competition similar to USA players.
Use IPL similar to MLS where we can bring good foreign players and mix them with our other Iranian players. You usually don't see the best American players playing in the MLS.

I think we can all agree most leagues in the world now cannot support the best players in the world so we should focus on:

                          1 - Youth football
2 - Youth and senior football infrastructure

If we want to bring in foreigners, they should be young, talented players that clubs can make money off on transfers to European and Asian clubs.

On top of all this, the biggest issue is IRIB's refusal to pay for the broadcast rights of the league. IFF has demanded this for many years and is legally entitled to it, but they don't have the influence and power to actually get the money.

If the conditions were normal without any sanctions, then I would have been indifferent or neutral about this question, so considering the current state of affairs, I would say no specially in view of the natural disaster caused by rain. In fact I find it ridiculous when we export cement while the houses of the farmers are still made from mud. The farmers feed the nation and yet no one thinks about stopping flow of cement out of the country. The dumb guys who destroy the mountains to make cement are the enemy of nature and ultimately enemy of the poor theo become victims of the floods.
