The way this tournament is organized shows how dumb AFC is. If a team played against Bhutan and scored 10 goals and finished second it would have higher chance than the loser of Iran/Iraq game or Australia. Some groups are ridiculously decided as well.
Ideally they should let the top teams qualify plus the best seconds based on their FIFA ranking. To have no australia no Iran or no Iraq going to the next round in Thailand would be outrageous. With some lousy teams qualifying for the next round you may see Ali Daei's record broken by Korea or japan and that is ridiculous too.
The weak teams should have been put in one pot and then only the top team should have played against the lowest of the best 'group Second place' qualifiers.

Well as Pakistan didn’t show up Iran is now ranked 3rd of the 2nd placed teams. A scoring draw will 99% put us through.
