-"OMG. On what basis did they choose him? Everywhere he was, he almost destroyed the clubs by enormous number of signed new players. @ACSparta_CZ is still fucked up - 2years after his was fired"

The economic side of football won't be opened to Iran until the sanctions are gone anyways.
If we develop our youth (the same way volleyball did) we can basically have a continuous in-stream of talented players. Play good football, you'll get noticed and more importantly - get respect.
- If they are domestic, we have a limited pool of choice (see how we struggle to find a U23 coach). Even if you think it is not the case, what's the problem to hire Stramacionni? Money? Do our domestic no names need huge salary?
- If they are foreign (like the spanish guy in Qatar), what makes you think these foreign is no names is qualified enough & will come to Iran (regarding all the negativity and pb we face)? Don't you think having Wilmots, Stramacionni opening the path, bringing their assistants will be easier to attract these no names?

2) Of course it is better to have better planning and facilities. But IMO it is not the most important. African countries like Senegal or Ivory Coast doesn't have better facilities than Iran but can produce world class players left and right. For me, the main problem of iranian football is its lack of interaction with the outside world, particularly with Europe. We won't go far alone. We need :
- more legionnaire & in better euro leagues
- more friendlies with better euro NT & clubs
- more respectable coaches for iran NT and clubs
- better foreigners in our league.
Since Iran was never a colony(as much as the Brits/Russians wanted it) we don't have those connections AND we are starting on the backfoot diplomatically. If we had good staff for IFF with plenty of English speaking contacts(Friendlies/agreements) and maybe 30 more Taj's we would be set.

It's no exaggeration to say that 99% of Nigerian soccer players go to England, or that a vast majority of Algerians go to Ligue 1. We saw this with Morocco as well.

Why is Zenit a better option for Azmoun? We all wanted this, right? To see Azmoun get a chance at a respectable club in a big European league, right? So why are we balking now?
If the interest is legitimate, and the clubs agree on a fee, Azmoun should learn from his mistakes last time around and pounce on this opportunity like an Asian cheetah.
Plus, what would make our dear PFDC veteran, Ekbatan, happier than seeing an Iranian in Serie A?
