True, although he was amazing in that game against the treble-champions of the time Man United - defensively he made Beckham non-existent and his offensive overlaps and crosses were also really good. I remember watching the game amazed at how good he was.

Shame he was inconsistent, but all of our left-sided wingers and wing-backs have been like that.

Daei did quite well in Bayern despite the limited playing time and i agree he deserved more playing time, he was amazing with Bielefield as well during a single season he played there, but his career in Berlin other than 3 CL goals was failure. I think he scored 5 or 6 goals in three seasons there(?). I think his lack of success was due to the fact that both Daei and Preetz had the similar style. Daei usually did well when he played with strikers who completed him well and were creative with ball(Azizi, Elber).
