Big opportunity missed for Aves tonight looking at the score, they concede an injury time equalised against a team with 10 men.
If they won they would have been one point off safety.
Portuguese media confirm Mehrdad dislocated his shoulder during the match vs. Famalicao:
"LUXURY LOCK MOHAMMADI
The Desportivo das Aves squad returned to work this Monday without Mohammadi, who was injured in last Sunday's match with Famalicão (1-1).
*
The Iranian striker carried out tests that confirmed a dislocation in his left shoulder, being limited to a specific work regime and treatment until otherwise indicated by the club's medical department.
*
Mohammadi was a starter for Aves in 20 of the League's 21st matches already played, having scored seven goals."

so depending on how bad dislocation is he is looking at 2-3 months out, big blow, would miss most of rest of season. Although he has done enough to secure a big move, it probably means certain relegation for aves.

Will also miss qualifiers too, which is a shame as he would be a good option off the bench.
At least Aves made an interesting signing over the winter (regardless if they will be in 1st division or 2nd next season) in spite of their deficient signings during the summer (besides Mehrdad of course). Another good prospect from U-17 World Cup who is from India. Good to see Aves and other Portuguese clubs exploiting the Asian market.
By the way, Red Bull is interested and in negitiations to buy CD Aves. Would definitely be interesting to see an Iranian playing for a Red Bull club and how stacked they will be in terms of revenue which usually translates into footballing success (ala RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg) in the league. Should this happen, I hope Mehrdad considers staying at the club even if they should be in the 2nd division next year.
Man come on, a player of his quality is not gonna play in portuguese second division. No reason to. He will certainly have some interesting offers that can further his career much more. Maybe if he was 19 what you are saying would make some sense, but he is going to be 27 soon, his window at getting to good european team is not that big for him to wasting years in second division of portugal for a supposed that project that could only come to fruition (i.e Aves reach level of salzburg/leipizig in their domestic leagues) in 5-10 years.
Portuguese second division is more or less youth football/ semi professional. It would be insulting for somebody who did so well in first season in portuguese top flight to be playing there lol. And big teams will be sure to capitalize and get him at cut price deal should they relegate which looks likely. And aves themselves would like to capitalize, this is likely the max money they can get for any player on their squad.

No way!! They signed a Indian player?? Wow! Champions League here they come!
"History is a set of lies that people have agreed upon,"
Weird, when a European club (especially an English club) sign or are rumoured to sign one of our players and some of the "fans" of that club make derogatory comments about the player based on the fact he comes from Iran... so many of you are up in arms, with your name calling and sweeping generalisations about those nations based on the views of some idiot fans.

Maybe you all should practice what you preach.
not at all. I havent seen this kid play, I wish him all the best. Cool for india to have somebody in euro leagues.
BUT, the original poster was indicating that this was an interesting signing, followed by talk of RB taking over aves, and then saying mehrdad should consider staying at this soon to be relegated team after his great season. No sweeping generalizations, just a regular observation that a kid from u17 indian team isnt gonna change aves fortunes at all, or give mehrdad a reason to consider staying.
