his decision to switch the ball to the full back on opposite side was really smart, most players would have just crossed first time into danger area, plus the fact that he hit that pass perfectly into guys path, all he had to was take touch and put in solid cross, shows his high IQ/playmaking abilities/ technique. Then second part to ghoddos game, awareness and instinct to see space in the box and make run immediately and get on the end of it.
Great stuff. He was involved in making play for the PK that gave amiens first goal as well. Good to see him back in form.
Gholi/Ghoddos, ARJ, Taremi all in and around sardar is going to be really formidable. It would be so ridiculous if this group of players, our best for a very long time, couldnt even make main qualifying phase.
Saman showing again he is nothing but pure class, very happy to see him come up with a big goal in a big game....1 point against one of the top teams is a great result.

Has Taremi every played in a CAM role?
Otherwise we would have to play 4-2-2-2 with Ghoddos/Gholi and Ali as Attacking mids

No and with good reason. He has none of the attribute of an attacking midfielder. Taremi is a classic wide forward who is physical , can hold ball up, and does unexpected things around the box. His place for TM is lw. We can’t really afford to play a classic 4-4-2, our team would need two extremely excellent cms to do that.
Ghoddos and Gholi are playing cam roles for their clubs and should do the same for tm, but with even more defensive work asked from them to maintain our shape.

I see.
Taremi finds a way to find himself all over the final 1/3rd regardless of position but we do need to have an attacking strategy that is more than just crosses into Azmoun

exactly, to restrict him to CAM role which will also primarily need a player who has the technical profieency to dictate tempo somewhat, keep posession, stabilize team (like prime dejagah) totally takes away from his strengths.
When you have ghoddos/gholizadeh, ARJ, Taremi all rotating behind azmoun, with milad and sadegh as highly capable full backs on the overlap, your offensive strategy will have little difficulty breaking down these third rate asian teams. They just all need to be on the pitch together.
Ghoddos never impressed much in TM and its because his team chemistry with the other players is still not established. If the coach can fix this with the help of camps and friendlies then we have a deadly offencive lineup. Add ARJ in to the mix and we will for sure be the best team in Asia.

He hasn't impressed you? How not?
And that notion that he has no chemistry is totally false. I think he's done really well compared to other foreign born players. Ghoddos had a decent AC, especially in the group stages. Couldn't do much in the world cup because he was added so late to the list.
His performances as a whole have been decent if you go back and watch.

I compare his game with TM with his performance at club level. In my opinion he have lot more to offer in TM, he was benched much under CQ times
