And that is why we need to face them, i am very happy with the draw, we should win all of our home games, draw Iraq and Bahrain away (at least) and
defeat Cambodia and Hong Kong- that should be fine for qualification.

I’m optimistic and confident that under Wilmots we will do well in this round. These matches will ONLY help our team before the final round which will be a tough one. I’m looking forward to this qualification campaign!

The 4 Asian cup nation's from I think 2004 in one group with emarat is funny. As Emirati you can collect a lot of miles with their airline😅 will be tough for them, but on the other hand the 4 nations will play derby matches and if uae is cool they will finish first because of some draws...

Saudi having a easy group, they will pass Uzbekistan because they will play yemen and palestine not in their countries so two home matches for these nations won't be real home matches...

Japan very easy group and also for China. Australia Jordan again is a nice encounter same as South VS North Korea will be funny

We should beat all of these Teams....all of them at any stage....on any Pitch! We were unlucky to not advance to the second round of the World cup....we got 4 Points out of a Group with previous World Champs Spain....Current UEFA Champion Portugal...and the best Team of Africa. This Team has grown over the past years...King Carloz teached them a lot! Iraq and Bahrain?......When did they play their last WC Matches? When did they had a current UEFA Champion on the Edge of loosing? TBH anything less than beating all of these both home and away would be a step back!

Iran got the toughest group.

Iraq should have been be pot 1 IMO, and we failed to beat them in the Asian cup With CQ and lost to them in a friendly in 2017. Bahrain is the best team of Pot 3. Cambodia is also on the come up, but they won't be causing Iran any headaches.

There's potential for an upset.

Tough group but we are by far the best team in there, the opposition defenders will be petrified of our attack and we will go through.

Iran should play a friendly with china on 4 or 5th september, because we play hong kong on 10 september. perfect, as we will fly to hong kong 99% via china, so a friendly with china would make sense.
btw we have a good match plan. we will analyse hongkong and cambodia in the first match, play hopefully china (if IFF is clever and reach a friendly in china) and than face hong kong. 1 month later we face cambodia at home, and have a not far journey to bahrain...than we can prepare for the iraq away friendly again one month later, as it will be the only qualification match on this november month, but we can face a quality friendly some days later, should arrange a quality friendly after first iraq away match and not far distance to play (andcwe can also play australia, japan on so on from pot 1, as all of these teams have free matchday, only qatar from pot 1 changed with bangladesh, have a match) and the good part is, that we have two home matches on the very last matchday in june 2020 if we have to beat bahrain and iraq at home, if we have problems in the path, we still have two home matches to fix it...
