My only positive expectation of Branko in terms of player call-ups and meritocracy (because I believe that he was the worst of all the national team coaches in this respect for many reasons* even if in practice there were other coaches who were much worse due to other reasons so he is the better choice now)
Is that he will bring Moharrami and play him over Rezaeian. That's it.
Apart from that, I expect:
- Alipour to come to TM and possibly play over Kaveh. May even be rotated with Sardar.
- Khalilzadeh to return
- Shojaei to stay at least until WC 2022 as a starter - Given he brought him to TM in the first place and hyped him over so many of our other youngsters in '06
- Lack of any keeper rotation and threat to mean that Beiranvand becomes complacent, stays at PP and gradually deteriorates due to overconfidence, at the same time players like Niazmand don't get the games to become future keepers and we end up with a dearth of solid internationally-tested keepers again.
He is literally awful when it comes to building meritocracy, and he gets too easily swayed by politics with regards to who he picks.
I hope to be proved wrong.

* Bringing Khatibi back to TM and playing him over some talented youngsters
* The complete lack of meritocracy by which a soorakh Mirzapour got as many caps as Abedzadeh
* Badavi, Alavi, Kameli Mofrad - you remember those days...
* Having an agent in our tournament camp, with a say in which player got chosen ffs...
* Falling out with our talented IPL player of the year (who was only 22yo) over a failed Dynamo Zagreb move and not even bringing him to the WC squad
