Clearly croatian league is very competative, and seemingly physical from what i've seen.

It's no surprise that they are a huge exporter of young talents in europe.
historically, based on my observation, no one plays the Physical Football better and more competitively than your typical Eastern EU/Russian teams ..!!
these leagues action are not for faint of heart players, thats for sure..! and if you can cut it and get feature frequently in these leagues then you can step up and adjust to the next levels of EU top leagues competition levels much easier..!!

Croatian league isn't as bad as you make it out to be bro.
ESPECIALLY for a player like Mehdikhani. I mean be honest, iran19 didnt even know of the kid. Why are we expecting him to go to household name team or league? Or why should we be disappointed when he doesnt go to a household name or league?

Its just interesting to see that Iranian soccer fans complain when our players don't move to Europe, and also complain when they do.

They always complain and claim that Japanese players have it easier, but as many members have pointed out earlier, there are loads and loads of japanese and korean players who join small teams similar to what Mehdikhani and Mehrdad mohammadi have done.

The truth is that even playing in a weak team of the portuguese or croatian league is still much higher level than PGL, and will put them in a better position to make a better move within europe.

A good example would be how Karim joined a random and unknown team in greece and was able to eventually join and succeed in a big team like Olympiacos, of course, prior to the mafia manager who kicked him out.

Another truth is that these smaller leagues are improving by the year.

We have seen how even teams from the Czech republic, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania have been achieving respectable results in european competitions for a few years now, especially this year.

It speaks to a bigger problem in our culture of zerrrr zadan and complaining/making fun of situations/people for no reason. Its like we have hamvatans that just want to say something negative and shit on somebody who is busting their ass trying to do something positive. ITs a pathetic mentality and needs to be eradicated.

Yes, good point. Add to that, some Iranians don’t want to start from the ground up (be it managers/players/workers, etc...) They want everything hazero amade without building and working up for it.

They most likely played their B squad.

They actually had half players that started in midweek and half that didnt. A result like this is still pretty impressive considering they were just last place.

Anyways I encourage you to actually watch some matches before bagging on an entire league (that produces countless talents constantly). For a player like mehdikhani you cant really be serious in expecting a bigger/better move. This is a place he can develop and become a hardened european professional and then make a next step in his career.

The real problem is that most of our fans are delusional, and believe that PGL is good on any level. They don't recognize how bad the PGL is, and how it's on an even lower level than the leagues of Qatar, UAE, Saudi, etc., so I don't know in what world it would be on the level of, or better than Portugal, Croatia, Belgium, etc.

IPL is real crap and leagues such as Croatia, Ukraine, Greece, etc other than two or three teams are also crap.
Yeah, it is good for someone like Mehdikhani but it is not a measurement stick.

seriously, its so obvious why CQ was always so fed up with that "league" of ours. Its just a complete shitshow from top to bottom in every aspect. Its only saving grace is that iran as a country has a rich footballing tradition, the sport is very popular, so there will always be talented players in the league. The league itself : the level of play, the organization, the coaching, the facilities, the stadiums, the shady businessman/dallals running the show, the retarded mentality of many of the fans and analysts, etc means that most of these talented players usually go on to do nothing, or much less than was possible with their talent.

It also means when many get to europe they may be well equipped in terms of talent to play there, in many cases immediately being some of the most talented players on their new european teams, but they will struggle for consistency beyond a few months, as years of physical fitness fundamentals and body training for high level competition have been neglected. We can see examples of this everywhere. Even players that leave iran very early (18) struggle with this. the likes of Saeid Ezatolahi, Azmoun (who just in the last year developed into a 90 min player, something berdyev and his advisors were clearly aware of and probably why he didnt go to big euro team earlier), Kaveh Rezaei, Taremi (who busted his ass in two games to give max performance which he did, then had to take 2 weeks off resting),Ramin and PAG when they went to europe for short stints, Delfi, gholizadeh, moharrami, ARJ even today.

The only category of players that dont have as much of an issue with this, although they have earlier in their EU careers as well, are the ones that are really mentally strong and have the mentality of soldiers. Milad Mohammadi, Majid Hosseini fall into this category. As did the likes of Ali Daei, Kia, Hashemian,Nekounam who were not only physically robust players, but mentally robust people. Others like Karimi, Navidkia, azizi, etc although arguably more talented, failed to make a consistent impact because of both mental and physical deficiencies.

Looked very sharp and promising throughout the highlights. Scored a difficult goal too!

Reminds me of Sardar Azmoun slightly...
