So far so good. Hopefully, he will teach Vahid to be more assertive. He acted with urgency unlike the IFF leadership. I hope to see him at IPL and other legionnaires matches else where when possible. Next is the announcement for the first camp and then the list and hopefully friendlies.

He was at the federation today and he officially signed the contract: http://ffiri.ir/fa/news/5332/%D8%B9%...85%D9%84%DB%8C

The only friendly scheduled is against Oman on May 28 in Tehran prior to the Bahrain and Iraq matches in June: http://ffiri.ir/fa/news/4933/%D8%AF%...B1%D8%A7%D9%86

Let's hope he manages to have more friendlies in the next three months and the one against Oman will not be canceled.

    Go TM!

What style of play does Skocic prefer? I remember he was Foolad's head coach about 5-6 years ago and they were doing well but I can't remember what style of football his team plays.

Our federation has the biggest boner for Croatian coaches, I swear to God.

I mean what am going to say about this news, as a hardcore Team Melli fan.. Is there really anything to say? Naaah...

I just send Dragon and his team my best wishes.

Right now we need all the support we can get. Support from the fans, from the media, there needs to be a positive atmosphere surrounding Team Melli.

As far as what I think about Dragon being appointed, I’m not going to comment on that. I’ll just say that I’m happy that we have someone and our assistant is Vahid Hashemian who can at least forward the information to Dragon since he’s been there since May 2019.

These are his non-Iranian coaching assistants, both very little experience and on wiki nothing listed for their coaching experiences. Wilmots had better assistants.

His assistant coaches should have been Vahid Hashemian (who worked alongside Wilmots) and Markar Aghajanian (who worked alongside Carlos for 8 years...).

Sometimes they know best who to choose, i mean who of us seriously knows the quality of Hashemian or Aghajanian.
These days all we can hope is that we for now make it to the next round which is nearly too hard to do

Probably because Croatian coaches are the only ones who will take the federation's shit without asking any questions and usually do a somewhat decent job

Vahid Hashemian is still there as Skocic's Iranian assistant. For those who said something about Vahid should have been an assistant, please read the full text of the news at http://www.persianfootball.com/news/...oaching-staff/

It specifically says: "The two additional members of Skokcic’s coaching staff will join Vahid Hashemian, who will continue in his role with Team Melli."

yep.... guess Cheap things No good, Good things No Cheap..!!
if the reported 200k only salary is anywhere close to the true contract figures.... its no surprise he wouldnt be able to hire anybody who's already somebody in this business to assist him..!!

Skocic just posted on his Instagram “I am honored to be the coach of the Iran national football team!”

Don’t know how to feel about Hashemian still being involved as assistant manager since he had a direct hand in our horrible performances against Bahrain and Iraq. In my opinion he’s not cut for the job. Too introvert, not much of a personality or character. Have been saying this for a while.

good gesture to make.... knowing full well what was the biggest reason why his predecessor was despised by fans and dumped by the federation..!! apathy..!

ditto for most part..!! i'm lukewarm about his continued involvement as well..!!

he has studied hard and has earned many impressive coaching licenses but i just dont think he has the likable enough of a personality to encourage his players to want to play hard for and rally around him..!! like ive said many times, he has come across to me as too much of do-gooder and just flat out ONOGH...!! most of his admirers though put those imo, shortcomings ..down to his supposedly immense professionalism..!! lol
maybe he has lived in Germany too long..? hence his Ze Germanic, cut n dry approach to coaching/life ..?? but i recall him being just as unlikable and self-righteous back in his TM playing days..!!

i suppose he could be useful as a X/O's analyser and assistant on that front for Dragan??? but i certainly don't trust him yet as a charismatic enough of a leader/coach and i dont even know if he even has a good eye for talent and where to best utilize that talent..??
i certainly woulda prefered Markar Aghajanian to him..!
