btw they are second right now with 3 wins in 3.
more than anything about his technical improvement (which I am sure we will see) this shows me he has balls. It would have been easy and acceptable to sign with PP/SS/ Sepahan for a year and chill in iran, regain form and positive vibes after a challenging year in belgium. But he chose to push himself again, go to physically tough EU league on loan and adapt to a new country again for a year. I hope he is rewarded for this strong mentality.

Reza Asadi is indeed nearing move to st polten.
The clubs representatives were in the Iranian embassy in Austria to finalize paperwork. Asadi had offers from tractor for renewal, SS, PP, sepahan too but didnt even negotiate with any of them such was his desire to become a legionaire.
Hopefully we have official confirmation in the next week or so. A 6ft4 24 year old defensive mid in a decent EU league is never a bad thing for a team so short on midfield options like TM.

Santa Clara negotiates hiring of Iranian Moghanlou
Striker deal expected to close later this week
Vítor Maia
Santa Clara is negotiating the signing of Iranian Shahriar Moghanlou, confirmed Maisfutebol. The deal is at a very advanced stage and should be completed by the end of this week.
The 25-year-old will thus be able to have his first experience in European football after several seasons with Paykan FC.
Moreover, more and more Portuguese clubs have been looking closely at Iranian players as proved last year with Taremi and Mehrdad Mohammadi.
Santa Clara also intends to acquire a central defender, an intention already publicly expressed by coach Daniel Ramos.

Iman Salimi is close to leaving Tractor. OFI Crete are back in for him, they finished 5th in Greece last season and are in Europa League Qualification.
He has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave if he pays a certain amount of money. Tractor are looking for centre backs as Asadi is also leaving, they only have Khanzadeh.

I personally think his level is higher than crete but anything is better than being held hostage at tractor. Greek league is quite weak overall but strong in one department, that is recognition and development of defensive talent.
We have seen the likes of sokratis, manolas, retsos(leverkusen), stafylidis (bundesliga), mavropanos (arsenal) now tsimikas to liverpool, and many many more smaller names to top leagues as well.
I think if salimi went to crete he would quickly show himself and move to one of the big 3, especially given his age profile and good resale value.
