Anyway when I picture it in my head it's possible. You will get awesome tourist income as well in tourist sites like nesf-e-jahan, bazaar of Tabriz etc
Asian cup provides lots of tourists? I don't remember but it seems to me stadiums weren't full by foreign fans in Australia and UAE last time and that's two attractive tourists destinations

          Domestic tourists!
Mashahdis going to Tabriz, Tabrizis going to Bandar Abbas. Shirazis going to Dezful. Tehranis to Abadan.
          etc.
We will get the stadiums full on our own.

I dont see Mashadis travelling to tabriz to watch vietnam/Indonesia. Afghanistan/japan and even the friendly iran/japan (where torabi scored) where far from being full

What an insult...considering Iranian women are not even allowed in stadiums.

That's the easiest of the many deficiencies to fix.

Pretty sure Saudi will get this one.

I understand Qatar will have plenty of stadiums left after the WC, but the pull that Saudi has these days is unrivaled.

Saudi won't get it either unless they change their laws and permit the social freedoms needed to host these kind of events.

Did Saudi really say they won't host us?

Good luck with that, we could send Aftabeh Sazieh Baluchistan and still qualify to the Asian cup.

Qatar should know..thats how they got the World cup in the first place.
In a slightly related manner, watch how ugly the Saudi takeover of Newcastle gets as Qatar is going to sue Saudi for its piracy of BeInSports through BeOutQ.

Sports will be one way these countries will war with each other.
The Asian cup is not that important now that the confederations cup is gone. The only reason to win now is because we haven't for so long. We need proper planning for that now as every 4 yrs something seems to go very wrong/we are unlucky.
Are you claiming that the confederations cup is more important than the Asian cup, even for an Asian country? If that's what you meant, I completely disagree, as most people would!!

Nobody even cares about the Confederations cup very much, including most of the countries that compete in them, especially the big sides. Most teams use experimental lineups, at least to some degree - especially top teams - look at Germany: They won the last confederations cup with a C-team! Not even their B-squad!

This is a friendly tournament to help countries prep for upcoming matches / world cup, and isn't nearly as important as the Asian cup, especially for Asian countries.

I don't think I said its more important than the Asian cup. I think the Asian cup now is less important itself to win now. We always end up running into a bad ref or into some disappointing game regardless of how strong our coach/squad is.

Part of the glory of winning the Asian cup was that Team Melli would get showcased against good teams in a tournament like the Confederations cup. I

Please look at previous versions, they are not all C- teams. And the German team you are referring to was/is more stacked than most teams Team Melli gets to usually play.
