Just shows that even a couple percent improvement in his finishing would lead to guaranteed 25 goals a year given how many chances he creates for himself. Such an improvement is exactly why he needs to get out of russia right now so in an environment with more motivation, better coaching, and better players around him he realizes even more of these opportunities.
Objectively all of us who are seeing him these seasons in zenit have seen improvements in how clinical he has been year after year. It shows in his goal totals. Increasing steadily every single season.
And as for this actual stat, its clearly an interesting metric.
In La Liga since 2016/17 season the top 2 in this category were :
Suarez (22) , Ronaldo (16)
Suarez (24), Ronaldo (22) (Messi and benzema right after with 18 each)
Suarez (31!), Benzema (18)
Morata (18), Benzema (16)
Benzema (17), Isak (14)
In italy :
Dzeko (29), Mertens(19)
Icardi (16), Insigne (16)
Immobile (18), Ronaldo (16)
Dzeko (21), Immobile (20)
Ronaldo (25), Zapata (21)
Seems that the top forwards in their respective leagues tend to miss the most chances too. Hes in good company

Of course he's gonna be up there for missed Chances! It's common sense!
He's on a team that creates the most Chances and he's their striker! Doesn't get simpler than that.
Also, every player misses more chances than they score, and will miss multiple big Chances. Just how football works.
In fact I even remember one season they showed who requires least chances to score and Mario Gomez was the most efficient. Messi and Ronaldo in 2/3rd.
They all needed a few chances per goal.
So if your team is creating the most, and the law is : multiple chances =1 goal, then you're going to also miss the most chances.

I dont know what this stat means, the Xg/Xa, can someone give me a quick summary of it plz?
thanx!
is it what i guess? goals per minute/ponts per minute played? or is it avarage "grade of performance" per minute/game?.....

You'll find loads of articles and videos which explain it in more detail but essentially, using a large historical database, they have been able to model the quality and subsequently the probability of any given scoring opportunity.
They can assign each chance a respective score between 0 and 1 so a long range speculative attempt might score something like 0.1 whereas 1-on-1 with keeper from 6 yards out may score 0.9.
What this allows is a standardised model for analysing quality of chances and likelihood of scoring. Obviously it has drawbacks as with any model and further complexities but it's extremely useful and widely adopted by those in the game.
So in Azmoun's case above, the sum of all his chances in the league season come to 15.48. But he's actually scored 16 goals so he's 'overperformed' his xG meaning he's actually a better than average finisher on the evidence of this season.
Looking at his historic stats, it looks like he generally underperforms his xG so there may be a slight bit of evidence that he can improve in this department (he has a career xG of 72.02 but has only scored 71 goals). This all seems a bit absurd to think 1 goal across 7 seasons can dictate our analysis but this is simply a mark of how powerful the model is.
Even someone like Lewa overperforms by only 2.55 goals. Of course, freaks also exist.
