Towards the end , wrong decision made too many times by Zenit up front. This is one of their main problems sometimes. CSKA playing well and a Zenit goalkeeper made some good saves.

Fun game to watch. As I said vs the top 5 zenits games are very open and there is honestly a good amount of quality always on display.
Zenit missing Rakitskiy tonight, again not looking as solid defensively without him, although lovren has been very good and proving himself to be smart acquisition.
I would have preferred semak went with really highly rated 19 yr old Prokhin who has played really good in other league games , but much like iranian coaches he shies away from trusting young guy in big game. Playing douglas at CB is a waste as he is one of their best ball carriers when playing LB.
Azmoun was very sharp. Goal was fantastic technique and power to beat akinfeev who is still probably the best russian GK. Very easy chance to totally whiff at. So mcuh for being out of form as some suggested last week. If any suitors are watching he is producing goods in big league game vs exciting young CSKA side, after a strong display last week as lone CF vs Europa League rostov.
Besides that zenits crossing quality was better than usual, azmoun nearly got on the end of great cross from right side.
CSKA have learned from past blowouts and while still an open match are allowing zenit to have more possession and playing a slightly lower block (not bus by any means) but this is leaving less space for sardar in behind to run into. Maybe as game gets stretched in second half we will see this more.Comment
