ultimately I would say it can be looked at on a case by case basis. The intensity of the league is seriously pathetic but it is what it is.

Omid ebrahimi - 33 y/o. Coming off an excellent season in belgium. He probably has no european offers at that age and if he does they are very short term ones. In qatar he can maximize his money for the rest of his career. He was a player who got discovered quite late and I respect him for grinding and playing EXCELLENTLY in europe for a full year, being a key component to his team finishing midtable (when he joined they were dead last) and now continuing to keep in shape captaining al ahli. No big issue with him being there and he should still be called up to TM until we see drop in his performance level.

Ramin Rezaeian - 30. Still in top two RBs we have. He tried europe, it really didnt work at all, he was miserable and played like crap. He's emotionally not really able to handle the lifestyle shock, not a crime, and is comfortable in qatar. I dont really fault him for returning and he should still be called up, but its time to invest in moharrami as starting RB moving forward while having ramin still be there to rotate, provide backup/competition, experience.

Mehdi Torabi - 26. Retarded. No reason for him to be there whatsoever. He just turned 26 and could easily be a hit in any euro league bc of his technical ability COMBINED with physique. In Belgium and portugal he would be a star and could easily get to braga/sporting team within a year. For this decision he should be punished. Consider we also have Ghaedi,Mohebbi in backup wing roles after Taremi,ARJ,Ghoddos, gholi. Its sad for torabi his competition is them. In saipa he was the best player of the whole league, gholi was good but not on his level in terms of physicality and end product. Gholi moved to europe, torabi fucked around in iran and now qatar. One improved volumes and is a key TM player now, with recent performances making him a must start, the other is a bench player at best.

Chesmi - not really going to be a major part of TM. Could care less if he made good money in qatar.

Shoja - He is 30 and PP hasnt paid him in a long long time. He can get $2mil/yr with no hassle in qatar, a huge payout for him financially after years of not getting paid well. He is in TM level right now in large part due to yahya's coaching, I am not sure if that will change with this move and he will stop his development. We will have to see. But I cannot hold it against him. At 30 with only a couple TM caps he wont get euro offers so qatar is his only option.

Mehrdad - 50/50 case. I agree he is a fringe TM player. But he showed in portugal playing for a super crap team and shining vs likes of benfica,guimaraes that he is not on that level and can play in a solid euro team. But he is not super young, probably has made little money in career so far, and got a great offer in qatar. For somebody who probably wont get a ton of TM gametime, if he saw no other good euro moves (like St ettiene) actually materializing I also dont really hold it against him.

I disagree, it's a league where the likes of Gabriel Batistuta and Xavi have played in and there are not many leagues that have attracted the best of the best, even if it is when they where reaching their retirement. There are many good South American, African as well as European players that move to Qatar when they have the quality to play in Europe in the top 7 leagues but prefer Qatar. Instead of going to Sporting Braga or Lille for example they prefer Al Duhail because of the money.

If you look at the top 3 best leagues in the world, the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga, you will find that it is no accident that these are the three wealthiest leagues in the world. The Serie A used to be the best league in world in the 80's and 90's because it was the richest, football is a business afterall.

Afc has ranked the QSL as the second best league in Asia for the past four seasons after China (Japan is third) which again is the richest league in Asia and i'm betting Qatar is the second or third richest.

Now if you look at the Iranian players that play in Qatar you will see that it's our top players going there, not an average player who plays for Naft Abadan for example as Qatar only attracts top foreign players.

Best of luck to this outstanding Iranian defender, good choice by him to move to Qatar. His fellow colleague defender is Gabriel Mercado, who before joining Al Rayyan played for Sevilla in La Liga, and Argentina during the world cup of 2018, and even scored against France.

Skocic better not ignore our legionaires in Qatar as Shoja, Ramin, Omid and Mehdi are still among our best 23 players.

It’s shaping up just like 2018 again. Our team is paying for the mistakes of poor management.
Although I have to say the scheduling of this tournament is stupid and should run concurrent with the European and west Asian leagues, so they can keep the same players for a season.

Rasoolpanah did his damage and resigned. What a stubborn baboon he was. Things got so bad, that usually quiet Karim Bagheri asked him to resign on Instagram.

There is only one thing we can do, hope the players put their whole hearts in, that Yahya applies the right tactics and that we get some luck.

Sometimes mistakes happen for all gk (ball going thru hands) but never with that technique...seriously have never seen as bad of GKs as in this league. And clearly its a big issue for them bc they banned foreign GK signings to increase the level of their domestic GKs. Hasnt worked yet...
