His age is definitely starting to show....thankfully we are loaded with options in his position. Very young, young, experienced, and veterans. Did he take a wrong turn in his career or was he never as good as the hype? If Nekounam never went back to Osasuna, would Karim have even gone to Europe? I think his biggest problem was his mentality, not lack of talent. Like Masoud, I think he got in his own head too much. I remember in 2011 against Maldives, scored a goal but could and should have had 3 or 4. Always lacked that killer instinct. Karim has always been a player with potential, but only at brief moments in his career did he ever reach close to it (His performance in Greece for them most part has been very good). However, I think he always seemed to lack confidence in TM and it often showed in his performances (outside of his clutch penalty vs Portugal). Given the surge of young strikers we have, alongside the dominance of Azmoun and Taremi, I don't think we will see much from him in the future.
