I think we all started to really see Taremi's full potential in the Asian Cup. Watching Iran play with and without Taremi was night and day. It's remarkable what kind of player, and honestly a person, he has become. I do wish this all happened a little sooner for him, as I think the sky would be the limit. Still, it's amazing to watch. He should be the role model for every young Iranian footballer.

Someone needs to tell Mehdi Taremi to stop hugging his teammates during goal celebrations. Just because he is in the same bubble/pod and they are regularly tested doesn't mean someone is not an asymptomatic carrier since they could have a false negative test or infected after the test and prior to the game. We just lost Ali Ansarian, the second former TM player after Minavand. Mehdi needs to be a lot more careful. He could make gestures of affection and camaraderie after a goal without touching anyone. I understand that football is a contact sport and there will be unavoidable contact especially for someone like Mehdi who is playing with all his heart, yet unnecessary contact during celebration could/should be avoided.
Go Mehdi!

Exclusive: Popularity phenomenon - Taremi multiplies goals and draws a crowd
Mehdi's success brought Iranians closer to FC Porto and social networks are just the most visible face of a phenomenon of popularity that continues to grow.
Mehdi Taremi's popularity is a phenomenon that goes beyond the "blessing" of FC Porto fans, surrendered to a striker who, in 25 games, has participated, directly or indirectly, in 20 goals.

Taremi on the one hand, Darwin and Paulinho on the other: Conceição's answer
FC Porto coach was asked about the form of the Iranian, given two of the main signings of rivals. Conceição chose to highlight the competitiveness in the squad and mentioned three more names.
This Wednesday, Sérgio Conceição previewed the match against Belenenses, from round 17 of the championship, and Taremi was the theme. The FC Porto coach was asked if he considers that the club buys better and cheaper than the rivals, having as a comparison Darwin, from Benfica, and Paulinho, hired by Sporting from Braga in this winter market.
"What do you want me to say (laughs)? What I can say is that we are happy with Taremi, Evanilson, Marega and Toni Martínez. It is true that some play more than others, but that is part of the cycles of a sports season. I am very happy with the four. It is only by being at a good level in training and having such good competitiveness in the squad that they can demonstrate what they are worth.
Taremi is in his first season at FC Porto and has so far scored 11 goals in 25 games.
