I agree. I think he is 1/6th of Beiranvand and 1/4 of Lak. The only fluke of the game was because of him.

But great team. Attacking style. But crazy formation. We have so many offensive forwards and midfield, one gets confused which one to play. Crazy formation today. I’d never seen 4-1-5 in my life lol 😂. Good game

I think Skocic should have started Abedzadeh in place of Niazmand. Uzbek goal was definitely savable. Payam is a great goalie but he is rusty. Sepahan has gone through a lot in the past few months and I think it has affected him. He doesn't look as sharp as he used to. I hope Abedzadeh starts in the game vs Mali. He has the best form at this juncture.

      Go TM!

If only there was a way to play Azmoun, Taremi, Jahanbakhsh, Ghoddos, and Gholizdeh at the same time... If we had VVD in defense we could give it a shot but not with our current defenders.

Both Gholi and Ghoddos are too dangerous to be left on the bench. ARJ as well.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me here, but I would rather play ARJ, Gholi, Ghoddos, and Azmoun in the top 4 with Taremi coming off the bench

gholi is must start. Every TM game he plays hes motm and runs our offense like ARJ has never done. Gholi is the CAM we needed. His pressing and energy levels are also great.

ARJ/Ghoddos battle it out for spot on the right based on situation. If we play counter attack we know arj is innefective there, better off with saman. If we need to break down lower block, then ARJs passing is key.

Taremi and Azmoun are fix players and their records in TM show that. Taremi affects every tm match he plays with big offensive actions and him and azmoun are a duo even with taremi starting slightly left.

Anyone have full re-run of the match?

I think we all agree that Gholi is our play maker and a must start as an attacking midfielder. I think the four in the back were overall solid and there is general agreement on that too (Shoja needs consistent behavioral coaching before and after every game). I think there is also general agreement that Sardar and Taremi have become indispensable to TM starting eleven at this point in their careers. Midfield is our dilemma. I prefer Ali Karimi over Ehsan hands down. Amiri had a dissapointing game but he is a hardworking and dedicated member of TM and I am sure he will be better in the future yet Saman is a better option for the match next Tuesday. As I said before, I definitely prefer Abedzadeh in goal.

                  Go TM!

Gutted I missed the game , was at work but read through the comments etc . Obviously I didn’t see the performance but important that we got the result , build up confidence going into the qualifiers next year. Also good chance for the coach to see some players in action, I’d like to see him try Abedzadeh for the Mail game, looks like from the comments he needs to rest the midfield too and try other players out.
Maybe rest Sardar as we know what he can do and he is starter , give Kaveh a start against Mali and Saman too.

Going forward, dependent on game time players get for their new clubs in Europe we could have a lot of different players in the squad next season. I’m thinking Zahedi, Delfi , Allahyar for example of our boys that have just moved to Portugal. Asadi could have a good season in Austria, hopefully Ezza is fully fit too and back in form. I could go on, would be a hard job for Skocic to pick his squad next year.

Ghodos > Gholi, as an all around footballer ..! gholi is younger/faster, maybe bit better dribbler but in just about everything else Saman is his sarvar..!!

gholi played better today but he was a starter with 1choice teammates surrounding him and Ghodos was brought on late along with a bunch of other 2nd team scrubs from both teams..!! game became choppy and boring afterwards

                          I don't agree.

Gholizadeh isn't the same player as he was two years ago. He's improved in almost every department.

As others have pointed out, he belongs in a place like la liga.

If i had to pick one player to start between the two i'd pick gholizadeh without even second guessing.

Ghoddos doesn't have the pace, dribbling, and ability to escape pressure from three or four players that gholizadeh has.

on the other hand: Ghoddos is a much bigger goal threat, and he needs to take EVERY SINGLE SET PIECE we get. Ghoddos also has incredible vision and similar to gholizadeh is a quality player who can help us maintain control of the game, similar to what dejagah used to do for us.

Ideally we would start both of them. Ghoddos/ARJ used interchangably with the front 3 and gholizadeh behind them would be incredibly strong.

inherently Ghodos is simply a higher caliber footballer and far more complete attacking threat than Gholi across the whole of front 3 or even in MF..!

however Gholi is definitely in far better recent form and fitness than Saman who's clearly been rotting in sidelines due to injury and suspension for a year or more..!!

vs top quality opponent, especially physically superior one, what i mentioned above will become CLEAR AS DAY to every one of you doubters...!

Gholi is the first player we’ve had that can actually dribble through the midfield since prime shojaei 5-6 years ago. He is a must start as his dribble penetration and speed compliment Taremi and Azmoun very well. Ghoddos is a good player but I don’t see use in playing him unless Taremi or Azmoun are injured or if we we down a goal and desperate. Maybe he can start over ARJ but Gholi offers something we desperately need.

Biggest issue with team Melli right now is center midfield. Going to have to be a mix or nourollahi, ezza if he comes back, ebrahimi if he comes back, karimi, bleh

dont you think both could start in many situations?

Imo gholi has played many high level opponents in belgium and his decision making, defensive work, etc has all been spot on. Refer to club brugge games where he played CAM for real evidence of his progress, assists record, etc.

In every tm match he has played he has been brilliant. Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Uzbek again tonight. Saman is also a great player and should start. SO is ARJ. But we can only pick 2 guys so Id say for now gholi is the fix at CAM, with ghoddos + ARJ dependent on form, oppo, our tactics for RW slot. This can obviously change over time but gholi is pretty much doing everything perfectly right now, in club and TM.
