Ghoddos is a good player but I don’t see use in playing him unless Taremi or Azmoun are injured or if we we down a goal and desperate. Maybe he can start over ARJ but Gholi offers something we desperately need.

Biggest issue with team Melli right now is center midfield. Going to have to be a mix or nourollahi, ezza if he comes back, ebrahimi if he comes back, karimi, bleh
ghodoos got the goods to even play a solid CDM if required ..!! he has a very keen positioning sense on the pitch, even when he doesnt have the ball he closes passing gaps for the opponents like a veteran DM..!! like i said Gholi's weaknesses is gonna show itself vs formidable and physically superior opponents..!!

Gholi is the closest thing we've had to AK8 since AK8. He is improving every week, he will move to a much bigger team next year and he's a definite starter for me in every match. If it's between Ghoddos and him, I would pick him but I hope Skocic finds a way of fitting both of them in the XI

In my opinion, Amiri is the one who needs to sit out for Ghoddos.

I just heard Skocic’s interview following the game on TM Instagram - encouraging and happy to hear his statement on trying out a new system. He said “if I don’t experiment new players and tactics now, when should I do it? I’m not going to do that in an official match - we will use what our players are used to which is a 4-2-3-1”.

Let’s us know he is not ignorant like wilmots and wants to change everything up. Good man Skocic....

Lets not compare Ghoddos and Gholi, honestly as they are very different players with different roles.

Gholi is thin, fast, and has great ball control. Ghoddos is heavier set, tactical playmaker, amazing at set pieces.

              Both need to start.

Exactly. Unfortunately, while Gholizadeh has been dominating in the Belgian league for 2 seasons, Ghoddos has been caught up with legal issues and has barely been on the pitch in the last year.

Yeah, I really like Ghoddos too but he needs some regular playing time in his club to clear the cobwebs and gain form. TM games should not be where players find form. Hopefully, in the next month, he starts every game for his club and then both physically and mentally, he'll be in the right place for our next camp.

Yup. Even in the hardest of days we’re the best. The 2001-2003 and 2008-2010 eras are blemishes in our football due to lack of chemistry and unity within our federation, team and amongst individual players. But if we have unity and trust in each other, there’s nothing Iranian footballers can’t do. Even under sanctions and against corruption.

I just imagined Alekasir celebrating his goal with a napkin, like Aghaasi

Aanother notable thing in the game was the farsi commentary, after a long time i didnt have the cut the audio off, thank goodness Khiabani is not commentating any more
