If they were bad then maybe but to me that seems unnecessary.

And I don’t see kanani’s performance the same as you did - Shoja overall was pretty solid but kanani got caught sleeping a few times. Not someone I want to be a consistent starter in TM.Team Meli Iran

What if either of them are injured we need Hosseini and Possibly PAG (Future) tested. Hosseini, although haven’t played much, if he is part of the set up and has shown match-fit, he would come in. Besides Turkey is “home soil” for him.

Originally posted by Nokhodi View PostElaborate... if anything today's game made me hopeful that as long as we can get Ezatollahi back and pair him with anyone besides Hajisafi, we should be ok.
The team played its first game after nearly a year, not sure what our dear member expected from this encounter. It wasn’t like we played Malaysia or Pakistan. We played against one of the somewhat powerhouses of Asia. We won 2-1. Had we capitalized on our opportunities we should have bagged this win with 3-4 goal margin.
Niyazmand on numerous occasions proved that TM is still too early for him. He needs experience and confidence. He was 100% at fault on the first goal. He should and could have easily stopped that shot.
Anyway congrats on our first match and the win after a year of TM negligence. And keep in mind that we did not have several of our key legionnaires for various legit reasons.
I see no Asian side managing to stop our fully available squad. You may find this funny, but on paper no Asian side should be able to beat us. It only takes a good coach (hopefully Dragan will dictate himself to the country).
Go TM Go!

Seems like anyone applying for football commentating, gets the job. There are no recreating criteria whatsoever. One of the most important elements of such position is the tone. If a commentator doesn’t have the right tone, it will only agitate the viewers, warmth in tone combined with knowledgeability and being able to project the right emotions at the right time, to convey the flow and excitement of the match to the viewers is a must. Unfortunately 99% of Iranian commentators lack that. Khaabam I had the tone, but lacks the other factors. Ferdouspour had all the necessary elements but tone. He sounds like kolaah ghermezi.

I missed Omid Ebrahimi today. He has been our most consistent player in recent years. Always gives a solid performance. I haven't followed his performances in Qatar but last year in Belgium, he was very very good. He is 33 years old... Can we get a year or more out of him or time to rejuvenate???

No seriously, I take yours and Inarsenwetrust jaan thoughts both on board, I just feel that with the centre back position it’s more risky and unlikely to replace a centre back and break up a starting pair unless injury, faulty performance or playing against lower opposition. Hosseini together with PAG were destined to become our best centre backs a year ago.
Dragan would decide based on his match-fitness and overall play/performance/confidence in training.sigpic

My biggest take away from the game is similar to Nokhodi’s seemingly - it showed how much we miss Ezi and ebrahimi and also how important it is for Asadi to pan out in Austria. Our CM’s were non existent pretty much and I really don’t want to see Hajsafi playing regularly. I never liked him up until 2014 wc where he did decent but the role he has been given is so much bigger than what he deserves. Out of 110+ caps he has had overall maybe 15-20 were good games. Idk why with TM in recent years we have issues letting go of old and useless players it’s been a burden on TM for years now.Team Meli Iran

Hajsafi is always such a weird player to me. You can tell his game awareness and IQ arent so good.
CQ gave him very specific instructions when he played CM and he did really well there from the period of like 2016-2018
So much so that he was absolutely dominating algeria in the midfield.
I think unfortunately despite being afforded SO MANY tm caps he has learned very little and has not become the experienced, level-headed player we had hoped for.
Looks like without a strict coach hajsafi is a very shol-o-vel player and plays half assed.
Our midfielders going forward should be
Saeid, Ebrahimi, Nourollahi
Backup/subs: Karimi, Noorafkan.AKP Parti, Turkiye - Haj Bernie Sandersoglu

BTW, we may have broken a record of sorts yesterday. We had 4 captains yesterday. Hajsafi, until he got subbed and handed it to Sardar. Then Sardar got subbed and put it on Amiri's arm when Amiri realized that he is being subbed too which then gave it to Shoja... Amiri was a captain for about 3 seconds!!!!

Check out the heights. Mehdi is no mug and he comes well below Niazmand’s shoulder, whilst Ghaedi is the baby amongst them. Him and Mehdi must get on very well, I think both from busheher!?sigpic
