Finally Karimi has registered. He has also nominated Mahdavikia as Vice-President.

I hope these two legends are not doing this for personal gains. I hope they are patriotic enough not to waste the federations budget on foreign coaches and stupid projects based on their own ideas and instead use it to build and maintain proper modern football infrastructure around the country and provide equal opportunity of access to best facilities for everyone in all corners of Iran. In this case I would love to see Karimi becoming head of the federation.

        ^what budget..!! lol
i think they'r in the hole some $6mil plus due to the wiltits legal debacle .... and it's no wonder such guys are even considered as qualified to even run for this position ..by the scandalous top mulahs in the background overseeing and funding the whole federation..!
this is a perfect opportunity for them to tap into still popular with people football legends and forever ruin their reputation after a some months in charge ..!! Daie been burned once or twice already and learned his lesson and doesnt want jack shitt to do with it.... it's now time to ruin the legacy of AK8/Mahdavikia and such i suppose ... so AK8 guess may well have an outside chance of winning this ..?

        ps
as i stated in TM news thread .... AK8 certainly is bit too gullible and novice diplomatically and a hotheaded/drama queenish but his Principals are in tact and his heart is and has always been in the right place and he certainly cares for Iran football progress and all iranian people .!! same goes for Mahdavikia for that matter, but he is probably too smart to fall for this IR trap and get himself involved in this journey with Ak..!?

^ things could shift if the new incoming Biden Administration at least eases the sanctions so that IFF could get all the World Cup FIFA money that as far as I know is still frozen.

I'm surprised Mahdavikia signed up to be vice-president. He is a very professional guy who I would frankly want to be the IFF president, but he's also very busy at Kia FC and his other job at Hamburg SV.

He is smart. Karimi probably will resign within 6 months and he will be president.

now that he got registered, it will be politically difficult for IR not to pick him.

the thing is who is eligle to vote?

Everyone thinks ofcourse Karimi and Kia perhaps nr 2 and 3 ever in iranian football will win but yes if former players and coahces would vote ofcourse they would win but its not! SO they could actually lose and lose big

Is this a joke? a bad dream? Jesus christ. In what world is Ali Karimi qualified for this position? This is a detail-oriented, administrative management position, almost like an ambassador. I doubt Ali Karimi can put a formatted formal letter together, let alone run a federation. Great player, honorable morals, fights for the people - 100%.

But also, a terrible, unstable temperament, prone to emotional swings and "ghar-kardan", and completely unqualified to handle a position like this. What's he going to do when Arabs in AFC screw us over on a vote? Head-butt them? Dribble around them?

                              Just WTF
