Great news! Best of luck to our TM legend!! Too bad Ali Daei declined for the position as he would have been the most qualified man for the job!

If Karimi really gets the nomination, he will dribble the hell out of AFC!

I love Karimi, however I am wondering if he has the management skills and mentality. Daei would have been the perfect person to run such title. Hell even better he is one of the most qualified people to run as the head of AFC as well!

Nevertheless it is impossible for the likes of Daei and Karimi to get such high profile seats in the IR. Only the IR-sworn puppets will get such positions unfortunately!

Unfortunately Karimi has shown to have a very poor mentality, attitude and judgement not just throughout his playing career with all the hashiyeh he brought to TM but especially after his playing years when he trash talked CQ over some petty non sense. I’ll never forget how quickly he turned on CQ and in a matter of weeks went from hailing him to saying all these years he did blah blah blah blah blah......no lose cannons like that should be taking charge of IFF!

This would have been the perfect job for Daei. Such a shame he didn’t pursue this

i'd much rather have daei, karimi is a bit of a hothead and might cause some unneeded controversy

I would love to see any former star, regardless Karimi, Daei or Kia taking that position but I can assure you that will never happen unfortunately. They will never let them in. The new Statute is only for show. End of the day, one of the Sepahi, Hezi will take over like Ajorloo, Gharib and co will take over.

                Sorry for the Zeddehal

Despite his great football skills and his ambitions to play for Bayern Schalke etc, I don't think he has the right skills needed to be the head of IRIFF. He's hot headed and hasn't shown that has changed much at all over the past years. He's ambition is there but I've not seen any evidence of calmness or management.

I would much rather see someone like Ali Doostimehr take up a position like that as he's mature, well educated, ambitious and knows how to manage something like a football federation.

At the end of the day, Ali Karimi or not, our football federation has shown that the football mafias in Iran are strong and have the most say regardless of who's in charge.

Ambition ? Ambition to play in bayern, schalke?
The only ambition I saw in him was to play in the UAE league

he is blacklisted from even coaching in iran right now, why would he waste his time pursuing IFF head lol.

Dadkan was best IFF head in recent memory I think.

Financially he was very good. IFF didn't have the money issues it has now, back then. Granted the wave of financial pressure on Iran at that point was not like today.

^ No, but deleting all Daei goals so Ronaldo would win the world's top scorer award... Just kidding..

Agreed but those of us old enough well remember how hated Dadkan was at the time hahaha. Almost every single one of us, the fans hated him so much, not knowing what awaits us and IFF in the future.
