Agree 100%, and that is why I am making that comment. If we leave it up to chance, AFC will f*** us. We need to take into our own hands.

Where is Lak? Why would he put Niazmand and even Akhbari ahead of Hamed Lak? It makes no sense at all. Lak is clearly the best goalie in Persian Gulf Pro league and ACL finalist with least goals allowed. Makes no sense at all to invite Niazmand and Akhbari over him.

You forget that we have been cheated and have to play our games in Bahrain, that is twice home advantage plus nasty tactics they will use to disadvantage our team plus playing in scorching heat. That's not fair is it?

The team is a bit old, there is half squad 28 or over. and around 70% are 27 or older. This shows the last few years we failed to produce or progress in youth level. I hope we don't see beginning of CQ era in 4-5 years.

Japan and Korea deal with this Arab BS all the time. The Japanese stay level headed and play to the last minute.

We have to bide our time and take our chances

Good point. I'll submit that there hasn't been much time to develop that next generation over the past 16 months or so. That said, having three coaches in three years didn't help, and we need to start thinking about who replaced PAG (29), Hajsafi (31), Amiri (33), and our third striker given that Karim and Kaveh are both over 29 (although plenty of young talent in that area).

I hope that, once we qualify for the WC, that Skocic uses the prep matches to phase out old B and C squad players like Khalilzadeh (31), Nourollahi (28), Kamyabinia (32) and even Omid (33). These are 9 positions that all routinely go to old boys who aren't exactly foundational to the success of our squad. We should use the next year to develop young guys to step up in their shoes.

SK and Japan (along with Australia) are exempt from AFC favoritism toward the Arab monarchs until the very last stages of the WCQ or CL. We have to deal with them every single leg of any tournament.

Even so, unless AFC literally hires hitman to kill our players we still have a way to overcome as we have previously. Given that not too many Arab monarchs have made the world cup in the last 40 years, and that there are usually Arab monarchs leading 7-8 AFC nations at any given time, we still have a shot at this.

They know our weakness is our emotional play so WE NEED TO CONQUER THAT IN OURSELVES.

If we controlled our emotions in the past , Iran would be 6 time Asian Cup champions by this point(2007, 2015,2019). The Bahraini's are not going to be able to just sit idly for 90 minutes, they still have to parry us off for 90 minutes so I suggest the boys be ready to give everything and bury the Bahrainis for good.

Anyone else sucpicous of the invitation of people like Kamyabinia and the inclusion of Bagheri in the coaching staff?

Seems like some sort of deal and nothing to do with inviting the best players.

Also why do we need Bagheri in the coaching staff, what has he achieved...?!

You must be Estghlali or you'd know how valuable Karim is. If not,, bagheri is a legend that belongs around our TM. Every player respects him highly, listens to him and knows not to joke around in the camp. A serious TM will do a much better job. Focused on the mission instead of side issues.

Given I've seen Bagheri literally manhandle players who get into fights with the ref/other team, I think its a good idea he beats that into Team Melli's head.

Some young talented players such as allahyar (19) or mohebi (22) or even Noorafkan (24 injured) have not been invited yet karim ansarifard 31 years old / kave rezaei 29 years old or ehsan hajsafi 31 yr old / Ahmad Nourollahi 28 have been invited. If you remember CQ used to invite some young players in team melli that most people haven't even heard of and then they surprised us when they played. I think we have lots of young talent but they are not invited for this stage. I think skocic is going for the experienced players for this stage. Maybe if we qualify for world cup we start seeing some young talented players either for world cup or asian cup.

yasin salmani is also talented player that no one talks about.
