Not sure why, but I feel as if we will have a tougher time against Bahrain than against Iraq. Probably because of the home field advantage. Here are my predictions:
If we remove Hong Kong and Cambodia from the equation by giving the 6 points from those two games to Iran, Iraq, Bahrain we will get:
Iraq 17 points
Bahrain 15
Iran 12
This will mean we will need to win our games against Bahrain and Iraq in order to finish first, and we must get 4 points out of the Iraq and Bahrain game in order to overtake Bahrain. Here is the thing though, since we cannot give any points to Bahrain in order to keep them at 15 we are forced to beat Bahrain. So tying Bahrain and beating Iraq will not be good enough and will likely eliminate us. Yes, every game is a final, and yes no opponent is easy and we must still beat Cambodia and Hong Kong and so must our opponents but 90% this scenario will play out and our game against Bahrain for us is do or die. If we want to finish first we have to win all 4 games. Only 18 points will put us first, and only 16 points with a win against Bahrain can put us second (most probable scenario). I know tie breaker is not head to head but in the event we do tie Bahrain we will have a must win against Iraq and Bahrain will have the 4th, 5th, and 6th tie breaker. If we lose we will be eliminated no matter what we do against Iraq and a tie is too close for comfort and can easily turn into a defeat with a ghost penalty or an uncalled for red card or a last second goal. I would not worry too much about scoring as many goals as possible against Cambodia and Hong Kong and focus on getting the win against Hong Kong and Bahrain then Cambodia will happen. This is not even considering whether we will even qualify as a second place team with 16 points.
i fully expect just about 3 wins and a draw from next 4....(& i predict that's what will happen) and i dont care how but fully expect a progress to next round of WCQ ..!
if Eskoochie man can pull us through with such pathetic little support from IFF and all AFC scandalous fk-overs of us, then he fully deserves extension of his contract through completion of WCQs...& possibly beyond if that pans out well, which im not so optimistic it would..!
