And since bahrain last game is against hongkong

I highly doubt that they will come for a tie. They have no choice but to come for a win, because we already have a GD superior by 6 goals, and don't forget way play Cambodia after the Bahrain game in which we won 14-0 the first leg.

However number of goals we score against Cambodia in our 2nd leg with them they would have to match plus another 6. And if we beat Iraq by two then they would have to score an additional 2.

Say Iran beats Cambodia 10-0, and Iraq 1-0, then they wouod have to score 17 goals against HK. If we match our 14 goals against Cambodia then they would have to score 21 goals against HK..

We need to start Torabi or Ghayedi. They have the technique to unlock Bahrains defence.

Unpopular opinion, but i’m seriously thinking about benching Azmoun and start Ansarifard instead. Azmoun has looked unmotivated for TM ever since CQ left. Anyone else noticing how he’s been moping around the pitch last games for TM?

No that's not correct, they do count for determining the standings in our group. They only wouldn't count when comparing our results to other 2nd paced teams (if we finish 2nd).

Really I thought it was they didn't count period. I would love some clarification on where / when the gd rule applies.

the 5th place results and GD from those games only count if you are comparing teams within the group (i.e. group c with iran, iraq, bahrain). once you are second place, you take away the fifth place games (including any GD) and compare to rest of asia.

compared to other groups, Iran GD is +2 (+4 vs HK, -2 vs iraq/bahrain)
