I mean that was basically our worst fear.

Now PAG I can understand. He played 2x since February due to chinese league schedule and injury and might be difficult for him to go full 90 as cb must in these conditions. Maybe by Iraq game he’s ready.

But how does he decide to field that midfield again? In front of Bahrain? A team who will park an almighty bus, he chooses a midfield under Gholizadeh with zero creativity, zero technical ability, and frankly nothing good in terms of defensive awareness either. Just 3 players who will run like idiots for 90mins. Now if he chose 1 or maybe, maybe at max 2 of these players, it could work...but 3? Is that really necessary vs Bahrain?

Now our side has a huge creative hole. We will essentially be adopting the get the ball to Gholizadeh and pray taktik. I really don’t know either why he insists on this weird 4312. There is a reason it’s used by nobody in world football, and it’s basically taking away our biggest superiority, wingers...ARJ,torabi,ghayedi,gholi(from wide. Saman should be cam).

Not a fan of the line-up posted, but remember -- Bahrain also have to beat us to lock in their chances for advancement. So perhaps Skocic is figuring to cover home base with 4 defenders and 3 highly defensive midfielders and hope to win off a goal from the combo of Taremi, Azmon and Gholizadeh. Essentially, CQ had this thought process in our big games, the only difference is that he didn't have to field nearly the entire team to cover home base.

Again, not thrilled with the line-up. Its not sexy at all. But there is a logic to it that may pay off. 1-0 and we're pretty much through to the next round (I think with at least a tie vs Iraq, assuming Bahrain beats HK, regardless of goal differential, which we're currently winning even minus the Cambodia part).

If the line up is 100% true by gol bezan I don't understand why drop ezzatolahi? He is a better DM than Nourollahi-he needs to play more upfront.
As much as I like to see Iran go back to 4-3-3, Skocic is not gonna change his 4-4-2. Overall its not a bad line up, I just hope we can grab 3 points
