Honestly guys, with the exception of Ehsan who sucked, we played a decent half considering we've had almost zero preparation and we're playing in the opponent's field, where we have NEVER won a game.

And the best part is that Skocic has lots of options for subs and fresh players. Like the last game, I think the 2nd half will be much better.

I like our defense when in our defending third while Bahrain is possessing. I'm fine with it being more conservative because if we concede we are really screwed.

But the defense in transition when Bahrain counters isn't positionally disciplined or sound like it was with CQ. Players are doing their own thing and not really system-oriented in that situation.

Creating the chances is there just need to put one away early in the second half and we can take a sigh of relief for a bit.

I don't even want to rate the rest of the team when this guy is destroying TM in offense and defense. Guys like Sattar Zare and Daei at the end of his career got way more crap than this guy, but he has somehow survived. He might be my least liked TM player of all time.

FIRST HALF observations:

Weak midfield, a bit clueless. Amiri used as CM makes little sense. Espcially when norolahi and ehsan are playing very ineffective and clueless. The ready made option is Ezzie, who could bring some strength to midfield, while helping with playmaking. That may release Amiri a bit more forward to help with playmaking. Especially if he goes to the left, instead of the right.

Gholi needs some muscle CM’s to allow him to do his shtick. Neither ehsan nor noorolahi are roviding that for him (or amiri). But the distance between Gholi and the pair of ehsan and noorolahi is just too much!

More combos needed in midfield. Could it be due to lack of test games? But whatever it is, we need to create more triangles and combos, to get past the Bahraini midfield press and crowded defense. I don’t see any triangles in TM!!!

The few times taremi and azmoun have received the ball, they have sort of done what’s expected from them, which is being on-target. A little more precision and focus would do the job

With a little tweak and added focus, we should be able to beat Bahrain comfortably.
