Skocic confirms amiri is most likely out for remaining games. Wishing him speedy recovery. It is hard to run midfield game after game with useless players around you, and in the end only a bizarre challenge + fall was what put him out of commission.
For Iraq Nourollahi Ezatolahi Ghoddos seems like a strong possibility, with milad/hajsafi at LB.

No Amiri against Iraq means our best difference maker and key starter in the midfield is missing. Woof... If that means Hajsafi will start in his place I might be on suicide watch
Anyways now would be a fantastic time for somebody to ask dragan, who we are opening appreciation threads for, why the hell he didnt invite omid ebrahimi?
Since WC in Russia, he has been the most consistent TM player with Amiri. The guy was our best player in syria friendly before these crucial qualifiers. In qatar he was picked in best 11 of the season. Say all you want about qatar, but we are very light in this position, and the 2 other players in the best midfield of the season were...
->Santi Cazorla (Last season player of the year for villareal and in La Liga best xi, was included in Spanish squad for euro2020, until covid cancelled it and he decided to move to qatar).
->Guilherme. Last season starter in olympiakos midfield that drew tottenham in group stage and pushed bayern very hard.
So clearly he is playing at a high enough levelm especially when you consider Ali Karimi out injured its bizarre that he didnt make the squad. Him or amiri are interchangeable imo in a midfield with Ezatolahi and Ghoddos fix, and ofc not that we need it in games like Iraq,Bahrain, but vs top quality opposition a midfield 3 of Ezatolahi, Ebrahimi, Amiri is excellent as we saw vs portugal,Spain.
To exclude this guy, for Hajsafi, does not make sense on a technical basis to me.
With regards to hajsafi, I honestly have strong suspicion he is being pushed by IFF/Sepah/Some elements of Govt. He is the guy voting for IFF heads, he is the guy with most connections to shady figures like Zonuzi etc.
There is no way on a technical basis even the biggest Hajsafi fan can see his last 4 games for TM and conclude he is fit to start and be captain.
Our midfield could finally breathe when he moved his ass to left back

Our main stress is to avoid the second spot, because if we're ranked second, there is a good chance that we will not be picked as one of the second placed teams to advance to the next round
If Iraq draws HK and Iran wins against Cambodia, both Teams will go their final meeting with 15p respectively. In this case GD still won't be an factor: Obviously if either side wins, they will top the group based on points, in the case of a draw Iran will automatically have a better GD (because this is the status quo which won't change since Iraq would have draw its last two games).
Last Scenario Iraq looses their game against HK and Iran wins against Cambodia, than Iraq can only become first by defeating Iran, regardless of the GD, to top the group with 17pover Irans 15p.
Hence my suggestion to save some key-players against Cambodia for the final showdown against Iraq. Specially now where Amiri is most likely out of the picture.

Damn, Amiri was a lion this game, we will really miss him our midfield (never thought I would say this, but earned his right to start today)--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------
--Moharrami----Hosseini--Kanaani----Amiri--
------------------Ezatolahi-----Ebrahimi--------------
--Jahanbaksh---------Ghoddos------------Taremi--
---------------------------Azmoun----------------------

I just like to add that iraq doesn't have to lose , even if they get a draw against hong kong then they have to beat us to take the 1st spot. Our GD is 19 + some against cambodia , Iraq's GD is 10.
So iran will be 15p - GD= +20
and iraq will be 15p - GD= +10
They have to beat us to take the spot.

We can agree that Iran and Iraq will play for the first spot. If both Teams win their next game - which is the most likely Scenario- than Iraq will lead the group with 17p and Iran will have 15p. In this case the final game between Iran and Iran will guaranteed have a sole leader based on Points- means either Iran with a win taking the lead with 18 over Iraqs 17p, or Iraq by defeating Iran taking 20p or 18p with a draw.
