I would really like to see Ghoddos and Ezatolahi starting together in the midfield for the Iraq game, for the same reasons I have before the Bahrain game. They are two clever players with a touch of class who can both defend well and set up our forwards too with clever passes.

I’ve been saying it since Ghoddos starting playing in a deeper role for Brentford when he played for them. This needs to happen, especially if Amiri is injured, he was quality today and set the foundations for the win.

Azmoun and Taremi are one of the best strike duos in the world, hands down. It was as if they were meant to always play together up front , great chemistry between them. They crap on any striker in Asia and we need to see them in their prime at the next World Cup - so exciting.

Regarding GD, The results and goals scored against last team in the table doesn't count when its compared to other tables. But it does count in our table. Looking at our results we just need a win against cambodia. Our GD is +19 - iraq's GD is +10 So i think we should take it easy .

the closest we can do is mid 3 of amiri, Ezatolahi, and Ghoddos. We can start with these 3 as the base, and hope that within the next 1.5 years until winter 2022 we find another amiri type player who is younger and can push him for xi spot.

Sardar: clinical and solid as if he was in an RPL matches. He did what he does best when given excellent service. Mehdi's assists were beautifully placed (just like all his assists in Liga NOS).

Mehdi: his goal was sublime. Not only did he evade the defender to get free (which was superb in and of itself), the way he positioned his body to fake out the GK as if he was going right, but then sent the ball going left...classic Mehdi.
