Lol I think they would give an arm and a leg (as it were) to play a great team like TM purely for the sake of experience. They are getting better and better. They scored against Iraq and I watched that game they weren't bad at all except for physical disadvantage they played good football and pressed Iraqis well. We should not take them lightly.

Ghoddos made the difference, he didn't score, didn't assist but he was the one who made midfielder looks very solid in 2nd half as hajsafi was useless there

Amiri, Azmoun, Taremi, Ghoddos should definitely sit next game.

Ghayedi, Rezaei, Esmailfar, Niazmand, PAG should get some quality minutes.

Hajsafi put a few great through passes that could have easily won the game for the Bahrainis. I mean I just could not believe my eyes how he was so fucking careless. We are through this round but next round playing in a group of 6 teams with 2/3 of them at our own level and possibly better with the others at Bahrain or better level we just cannot afford this sort of careless mistakes.

Had to head back to work again at the start of the second half but just got caught up

Credit to Skocic where its due he made all the changes that every common sense iranian football fan were screaming for with the exception of keeping Hajsafi on for 90 minutes.
Second half was literally night and day. We made these losers look like the amateur players that they truly are. Ghoddos dribbling through them, reminded me of Ali Karimi in his prime honestly. ZERO reason for him not to start against Iraq. Same goes for Ezatollahi. As many have been screaming here, a midfield core of Ghoddos - Ezatollahi - Amiri is the best we are going to play in terms of keeping smart possession, having quicker decision making, more offensive threat, and defensive stability. First half I was having flashbacks to Wilmots games if not worse. Glad Skocic realized that and gave us that beautiful second half of football.

Harche khordan bazam kam bood. Was really hoping for a 6-0 repeat. MOM Taremi, two beautiful passes and a goal. Granted he probably could've scored 2-3 more himself had he focused better in front of goal; then again he's not known for efficient finishing rather for all the other utility he provides as we have all seen here. To all those worries about saving him etc etc the man plays nonstop 90 minute games for porto, his fitness levels are akin to Amiri's right now. Azmoun with two BEAUTIFUL finishes to secure us this game. Lovely timing on his run and composure on the finish with the first, incredible pace and power to finish the second.

Highlights: Taremi, Amiri, Azmoun, Ghoddos, Ezatollahi

Lowlights: Hajsafi, Nourollahi, Torabi, Kanani, Khalilzadeh, Mohammadi

Hope Skocic can learn from his first half mistake and put forward a better lineup against Iraq.

Skocic confirms amiri is most likely out for remaining games. Wishing him speedy recovery. It is hard to run midfield game after game with useless players around you, and in the end only a bizarre challenge + fall was what put him out of commission.

For Iraq Nourollahi Ezatolahi Ghoddos seems like a strong possibility, with milad/hajsafi at LB.

I hope he plays the full 90 minutes next game and tires himself out for the Iraq game. He definitely needs to be phased out after these games. I rather have Ando or Nekounam back at this point instead of him lol
