Yes, Paulo Sérgio. He could have hypothetically been a realistic TM head coach candidate as well if we were still searching given he lived in Iran at some time and familiar with Asian Football.

Skocic is doing exactly what he was hired to do: qualify us to the World Cup. He’s doing it with impressive results, undefeated and putting our worries completely to rest.

After we qualify, then we can look into team tactics, identity, etc., which require a cohesive training camp and string of friendlies.

Skocic is doing exactly what he was hired to do: qualify us to the World Cup. He’s doing it with impressive results, undefeated and putting our worries completely to rest.

After we qualify, then we can look into team tactics, identity, etc., which require a cohesive training camp and string of friendlies.

He actually was initially hired to get us out of that groupstage turmoil and predicament that Wlmots had gotten us in. Most people (Including Skocic himself) suspected that upon the end of the group stage, regardless of the outcome, Skocic will be sacked and replaced by another foreign coach. It was a shocker to him and many others that he retained his position. And quite honestly rightfully so if you ask me.

Who would be willing to come to Iran one year before the world cup, and put themselves in such a difficult Situation with a federation that would not provide him with adequate support, a country stuck with sanctions, no Chance to play any friendly matches before this final round starts, no time to acclimatize, and tons of other difficulties that come with coaching Iran.

And all of this, one year before the world cup starts?? Can't imagine anyone wanting this situation, unless they're super desperate, and that wouldn't necessarily mean they'd be a good coach... Maybe the opposite actually...a desperate coach who is willing to take risks due to poor or average results so far.

And perhaps that's sort of... Not exactly... What skocic situation was and perhaps why he took the job, except he

In the end we had to stick with skocic and even though we may not be able to keep up with the big teams or make it to round of 16 in world cup, he's still our best option. However, it's still not a certainty that we won't be able to keep up and make round of 16...Definitely not a certainty. We can still improve until then with Dragan and who knows what will happen!

Our undoing was our inability to keep Carlos queiroz. This situation we're in now, was incredibly difficult to avoid and we're here Becuase we couldn't keep him.

All things considering, at least we're doing really well in final round of qualifiers, should make world cup, and hopefully we'll somehow manage to get a couple decent friendlies and improve before world cup starts.

At the peak of our predicament and failure by the King of Kongs “Wilmots” no one dared to take helm of TM. Apparently even all domestic coaches including Ghalenoei and Yahya declined TM coaching offers as they knew with the slightest slip up TM would lose its WC 2022 birth and get eliminated, thus them losing credibility. Coaching position for awhile and worst of all being the target of media and masses wrath and criticism.

So kudos to Skocic for having the Balls to take on this risky position and proving his merit.

Lol at you when our World Cup group is South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon and the winning machine that is Daneshmand taks us to the knockouts baby (with 6 points as we'll still get humiliated by SK obvs).

You troll a lot but you should be lucky you can even watch TM right now and thank Skokic and his team for getting us out of the first round in those disastrous conditions.

I dont understand… I simply dont understand the Extreme hate and negativity against Skocic. Is he Gods gift to football? No. But what do you guys want. You act like he is the reason CQ isnt our coach no more. Like Carlos is begging to come back but Skocic is blocking his Way. Why is Carlos even relevant to discuss and compare with? He is gone, time to move on. Its Been like 3 years and people are still stuck.
Furthermore, take a deep breath and look at the State our football federation and country is in. He took om an impossible task. We cant even play friendlies. We dont have decent camps. Do you know how much practice it takes to make a team play like a team. To have an identity? Do you guys Think that if Pep came here, we Would play tiki tika without having a decent Camp and friendlies? Do you Think players just automaticly play tiki taka by rubbing on Peps bald head? Skocic has gotten the absolut maximum out of and impossible task. We couldnt ask for more. Do we play the Best and most fluent football? Hell no, but in these circumstances it is impossible nomatter which coach we Got. It doesnt take a football genious to know that
So I ask you, what do you guys want. Lets say we sack him tomorrow. Who do you want to replace him? Klopp, Pep or conte? Or Daei, Ghalenoi or Yahya?
Is Those iranian coaches the answer. Will they take us to the round of 16 garenteed? Hate to break it for you, but even if we had klopp og pep, we could be Huge underdogs to advance from the group. It Would be a Big surprise if we did. We are a team who Can give most teams a hard time, but also a team that Can loose to ANY team in a World cup. Dont overrate us to much. We are the team in pot 3 that many other countries wish they draw. So if we dont qualify from the group, its not only on Skocic. That is the expected outcome nomatter the coach. Is it possible we do? Hell Yea but we Damn sure aint favorites to do so

Yeah be careful what you wish. Psg fans wanted tuchel out and we end up with worse while tuchel won the CL.

About the lack of friendlies we had some with skocic (Uzbekistan, mali, bosnia) but covid completely changed the calendar

yeah I agree 100 % feels like a crowd pleasing sub since its blowing hard winds after mehdi cutting from the squad..
