I can see both sides.
On the one hand, it is important to remember where we were in just June this year. If someone had told me before those games, we would be one game away from WC in November of the same year, I wouldn’t have believed it. Skocic deserves credit for the results achieved, after the Wilmots disaster.
However, I am old enough to remember Branko in 2006 clearly. We did not play well in the qualifiers but got results, and similar arguments were happening at the time. Needless to say, the poor play eventually caught up with us at the World Cup (though I do think we are playing far better in this campaign, in 2006 we relied heavily on set piece goals).
