Imagine if we make it out of the group stages with Skocic... PFDC might implode.

Dragon has done the most, with the least amount of support. Took the job nobody wanted, in near useless currency, in the worst possible situation, little to no prep / friendlies, and qualified us to the world cup with 3 games in hand. Damesh garm!

he deserves credit for today's performance. Big improvement from recent ones (even if some of the changes were forced on him).

Mentally he has the guys in a good spot, that is his defining characteristic. Can he keep them there vs the best in the world is another question, but he will get his chance to show it, which was a major topic of contention just a few months ago

Considering all the challenges with postivie COVID-19 cases and especially missing Sardar and Noorollahi, Skocic did great. He had a waiting list and he called new players as needed and then took a risky decision to put Taremi in the starting lineup who had arrived in Tehran less than 16 hours before the match. He has successfully instilled a winning mentality in one of the most talented TM roster in the history of Iranian football. A new and very challenging phase of his work has just started. Now we need a strong support from the federation and the government to have the best possible preparation. This will include strong friendlies, landing a great camp and having a detailed plan including strong COVID-19 risk management for going beyond the group stage. I believe he has shown that he is up to the challenge. We are lucky to have Skocic.

              Go TM!
              Go Dragan!

Another game, another win. Highly doubt any coach in Asia has ever come even close to his stats. Incredible.

What makes me so glad about these qualifiers is that he has put Iraq in their place. Don't get me wrong, no pun intended against them but they've been this thorn in our side for decades. Now what? Three convincing wins in a row against them. They look like potato farmers (again no pun intended) against us nowadays.

Last but not least: There is this pattern regarding TM, and most probably all teams that when you play opponents regularly you get better stats against them.
The more we meet SK, the better we play against them. The more regularly we play Iraq, the better we perform.

Honestly I think for TM sake, this is a key issue as we have continuity problems, or at least have had historically. Qualifying for WC regularly is a key issue. Korea and Japan has reached a ceiling in this regard as it has been a long time since they started to qualify regularly. Now it is our turn as this is our third consecutive qualification. When we are up like on our 4-5 consecutive qualification we will start beating better teams. Mark my words!

The whole Nations league format is designed for this purpose. It raises the competition in UEFA and makes minor teams perform better when it matters.

we have won 15 games against them, 6 draws and 6 losses.

That's a lopsided record. We own them.
