Ehsan Jan, I’d rather he gets it right for Iraq. Next game he can pretty much pick any 11

Moharami- 7/10 - not bad, not great
Kanani - 6/10 - great in the air, poor on the ground, and one horrible tackle.
Shoja - 6.5/10 - Seemed tired to me.
Mohammadi - 5.5/10 - defensively was ok, but was really lost offensively. His touch was a disaster. Rightfully subbed.
Hajisafi - 0.5/10 - Less said the better. 1st half he was basically a Bahraini. When he moved to LB, his f***ups were less noticeable. The 0.5 is for his one decent interception. Crosses were disgusting.
Nourallahi- 6/10 - Really poor in the 1st half. Defensively good in the 2nd half and one good assist.
Amiri - 9.5/10 - Almost perfect. Covered our midfield and saved Hajisafi's ass way too many times. Real shame he got injured. My MOTM and now one of favorite TM players ever. What a tank. Still can't believe people don't like him. First goal was because of his hustle. He blocked the Bahraini attack so many times. Recover well and soon Vahid jan!
Gholizadeh- 5/10 - Tired and slow.
Taremi- 8.5/10 - great assists and really good goal (see how he blocks the Bahraini defender) - just wish he had finished a few of the easier chances earlier on.
Azmoun - 9/10 - Excellent finishes on both goals. Wonderful.
Ghoddos - 9/10- Wonderful. His best TM game ever. He was fouled so many times and asshole ref would say nothing, however he would always get through. Got TM out of many difficult spots.
Ezatollahi - 7/10 - Calm and composed. Played with much more maturity than his age.
Torabi - 7/10 - did not play alot but he won the ball from the Bahrainis to start the 3rd goal attack.
Ghaedi- 6/10 - not lethal enough - but found himself in good spots.
PAG - 6.5/10 - did what was required.
Skocic - 7/10 - Can't understand starting Haji Safi, but he changed the game in the 2nd half and got us a win in Manama.

Must win our next 2 games. I don't care about goal difference and permutations of other group results. Win it all and we qualify as 1st.

      F*** the AFC.

Bahrainis pressed hard in the 1st 15 minutes but TM survived. They fell apart physically and once they conceded, their entire team fell apart. It was wonderful to watch. Bahrain is a terrible team and does not rely on skill to do anything. We should be beating them regularly without all this stress.
      No need to overcelebrate.
LOL 0.5, but that interception in the box was much needed so maybe 1.5. At least he didn't set up the Bahraini player like last game

notes I took from this game:
-Amiri hands down is the Irani kante, just absolute beast
-hajsafi should not ever be starting, unless as LB(he was ok there)
-nourollahi seems to be getting more comfortable in TM. Actually surprised me, he did very well with intercepts and showed a lot of heart. Still believe he should play in front of ezzatollahi
-sardar and taremi showed again they work well together with their combos. Sardar finally should his quality again
        - taremi and amiri both MOM
-ghoddos wow. Surprised me the most. I haven't been following his games in England, but my god, he was a game changer

          Amiri MOTM
Ghoddos super sub, filthy touch and vision.
Sadar had a great 20 minutes or so in the 2nd half, but outside that, meh.
Mehdi did good in 2nd half. Should have converted more of his chances.

The entire Defense beside Sadegh was poor. Poor passing, poor positioning, and a really stupid tackle from Kanaani. Way too exposed on counters. We will get owned against stronger teams playing like this.

          Nourollahi is a back up.

Gholizadeh was meh. Some nice passes, bit also turned over the ball on too easily on his dribble attempts and at times killed the flow of the attack. Was getting flashbacks on Late era Shojaie.

Torabi got the job done. Good option to have off the bench.

Ezza was okay. Should have had a goal.

Nothing note worth for Ghaedi and PAG.

Beiro was only tested once or twice. Did decent.

Skocic: poor starting lineup, poor tactics (players look lost on the field, overlapping eachother all the time), got bailed out by his players' individual abilities in the second half.

            Some notes

-Hajsafi I can’t say enough bad things about him lol. That free kick into one man wall and his touch that gave Bahrain free shot on goal sums it up. To be fair he was better than mohammadi at LB

-we have fullback issue. Mohammadi was bad, hajsafi can’t be trusted, and I find moharrami to be quite inconsistent defensively.

-as we all said, ghoddos should start at cm and look what he did mr Skocic. Toyed with Bahraini team

-taremi and azmoun are most lethal in open field and with space. They are not the best when opposing team is just parking bus and we are crossing

-gholizadeh was not very good today

-torabi and ghaedi are dangerous super subs, must use them if we need goals late against Iraq

Lastly, we are awful at set pieces. I swear a billion crosses first two games into the box and absolutely nothing on goal. We need to have ghoddos take them or something
-kanaani-shoja is a shaky combo, PAG brings calmness to center back position

Then he was forced to put saeid in after vahid injury, another player that should be always fix. The guy is bailed out by our talent level, but he sure as hell wont take iran anywhere in a WC or even WCQ main round.
Agree with your take but he did show his adaptability after his halftime changes. The real marker of his quality as a coach will be who he puts out against Iraq otherwise hes watching a totally different game than us

Both Mohamadi and Moharami are shaky defenders and will get exposed badly against stronger opponents. We have better fullbacks in Iran namely Esmaeilifar, Rezaeian and Aghaei. Hopefully they will get a chance to show their abilities in the next round.

There were a few under performers today including Haji, Gholi, and Mili. Khalil also looked nervous and made a number of classic mistakes for a defender. That said, the team overall performed well. This wasnt a difficult game but emotionally it was high up there, specially that the consequence of not winning was too devastating for everybody.

The boys pulled it together well ..and I give an overall 8 to the team. Kudos to the team!

Amiri and Saman, what a performance. Amiri has the heart of 20 years old kid and Gheyrat of Ali Daei. This guy can play up to 40 like Jalal. He was all over the field. MOTM in my opnion despite Taremi's 2 assists and Sardar's 2 beauties.

That's where you're wrong. He did setup a Bahraini. Right outside the box off a FK.

Beiranvand- 7 (decent when needed, but not truly tested, so tough to score)

Milad Mohammadi- 3.5 (his worst TM game to date, absent when defending, horrible touch moving forward. Seemed very nervous.)

Kanaani- 5.5 (shaky, dangerous yellow to concede with a tackle from behind, bezan ziresh passes, hoping he gets benched moving forward)

Shoja- 7 (some good interceptions, decent positioning)

Sadegh Moharrami- 7.5 (I thought he did great moving forward, and was our best defender today)

Hajsafi- 1 (just so awful in midfield, ruined every set piece, NASA shots, horrible crosses. Barely did better than a horrible Mohammadi at LB)

Amiri- 8.5 (best TM game to date, played like a lion, sad he got injured)

Nourollahi- 4.5 (aimless shots, and pretty much absent in man marking, our midfield was empty on counter attacks. Got an assist though)

Gholizadeh- 6.5 (some nice dribbles and passes, but not himself today)

Taremi- 9.5 (2 assists and a goal, MVP, would be a 10 if not for his 2 easy misses)

Azmoun- 9 (2 goals, what more can you ask of a striker?)

                        BENCH:
PAG- 6.5 (calmed the defense after he came on)
Ezatolahi- 7 (please start against Iraq)
Ghoddos-8.5 (game changing sub, played calm, without emotion, clutch dribbles, and saved out midfield)
                        Torabi- 6.5 (nice impact sub)
Ghayedi- 4 (bad miss on an empty net)

Absolutely.. Unpopular opinion but without Amiri today we might've not won today..

He literally dictated the midfield play today. Covered for Hajsafi so well and still had enough gas in the tank to move the ball forward, play great through balls and control possession so well. He is a must start for me when healthy, next to Ezatolahi and Ghoddos in the midfield.

He has been underused since his invitation to the national team. The guy possesses all the missing links we need in our midfield, and he’s also not as emotionally fragile as the majority of our players.
