ideally UAE, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon take enough points from each other to make it easy for us.
That is the key. I don’t see those guys beating Korea either. Gaining at least 10 points from Syria and Lebanon is a must. Syria is not as strong as before and Lebanon while tricky is weak, they could not even beat Turkmenistan. Iraq I think we got some pressure off us with the last win and hopefully our boys will play more relaxed against them now, too bad azmoun misses the first clash which is against Iraq. UAE can be difficult as we’ve struggled with them in the past, getting 3 points from UAE should be enough. And I think we can get 2 points from korea no problem

In other notes this group is like IR wet dream. All of the countries are those Iran has strong international relations with lmao, except maybe UAE these days due to Saudi influence

Damn! I really wanted Australia--so tired of the Korea match-up every four years. By the time the next WCQs roll around, it will be 28 years since Iran and Australia have met in a WCQ. Such a shame given how old this rivalry is.
