Firas has retired because he is too old. This guy was the Syrian Khalatbari and caused many problems for the opponents. KHARbin had a dispute with the coach Maaloul but since Maaloul has resigned, KHARbin might give his comeback. And Al Somah didn't play for two years but I don't know the reason for that. But even if they play, we shouldn't care because Al Somah played in the 5-0 defeat against Iran and he couldn't do shit.

Iraq and Syria do not have coaches.

It seems by the mere fact we have a coach, we have the early upper-hand.

Honestly the strategy against every Arab team is the same. Score early and they break down then hit a second as they become undisciplined trying to equalize.

Against Korea, its always a 50/50. We just have to keep Son uninvolved like the last few encounters

Iraq shot themselves in the foot (and pulled an IFF) by not keeping their coach. He seemed like a standup guy from the interviews I saw. Reminded me of the situation CQ found himself in with IFF.

                      here is the translated version

Syria's bizarre appeal to Saudi Arabia against Iran on the way to World Cup
Among the countries that Syria has requested to host is saudi arabia.

                      Sports News -
The Syrian national team is one of our national team's rivals in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which according to the AFC's ruling must play its home games on a neutral ground due to Cronulla's conditions.

Abdul Qader, the head of the Syrian football team, said: "We corresponded with the Federations of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman and requested our hosting in the World Cup qualifiers to these four federations. Iraq and Syria, two opponents of Skoczyk's disciples, were banned from hosting the competition by a ruling from the Asian Football Confederation.

The interesting thing is that Syria has corresponded with the Saudi Football Federation to host the match against Iran, where the two teams, Iran and Saudi Arabia, are also playing in a third country in face-to-face conflicts.

I think this is just bullshit by Khabar Varzeshi.
I don't think Syria even has diplomatic relations with Saudi right now.

Iraqis online seemed to complain about him excluding some legionnaires but maybe they were a vocal bunch because results wise they were solid. played very well against Iran in the 3 matches they had.

but who knows, if the new manager brings in a bunch of legionnaires they could be much more difficult to deal with

Their "legionnaires" is an MLS player, a Swedish-league player and a Croatian league player. Nothing crazy.

This means Azmoun is disqualified in the first match of the third round on September 2 against Syria. He got his first against Bahrain in TM 1-0 loss back in October of 2019 and the second one in the win over Iraq on June 15, 2021. Players with one yellow card are Hajsafi, Nourollahi, Kanaanizadegan, Taremi, Jahanbakhsh, Moharrami and Torabi.

                                Go TM!
According to IFF web site (http://ffiri.ir/fa/news/8736/%D8%A8%...AF%D9%86%D8%AF) AFC has forgiven all players with single cards for round 3. This means Hajsafi, Nourollahi, Kanaanizadegan, Taremi, Jahanbakhsh, Moharrami and Torabi start round 3 with a clean record. Azmoun is still disqualified for the first match since this ruling does not apply to already disqualified players.

                                Go TM!
