That's just one of the many reasons why he is my favorite TM player. He often manages to look slow/sluggish/relaxed, even though he is actually fast physically, extremely strong physically and INCREDIBLY fast thinking and always plotting and scheming.
He is just an incredible footballer!

Even though most people here and in Portugal and even in Europe in general (since he came on the radar for European football followers with his championship performances and goal of the season),
to me HE IS STILL UNDERRATED!

He could play in Barcelona or any of the other top 5 teams in the world and be a starter!

great 1st half performance for our boy capped off by a great goal...! hopefully first of many more to come..!
he did great to hold off defenders hanging over his shoulder as he was running towards the goal, keeper sorta fked up leaving a bit of gap in near post and he ruthlessly kicked it through it..!!

he is always lining himself up with the Dline, asking for such through balls, but often his teammates fail to send him through on goal..!
this time Diaz (who is hustling hard and playing great this match ..! showing off to get himself a lucrative EPL move..?) saw him and released him for the goal..!

Mehdi's off the ball hustling and pressing and defensive contribution also has been exemplary this game so far ..!

First Sardar with an amazing goal earlier in the week and now Mehdi. While the two defenders thought they were closing on him and keeper thought he had the near post angle covered, Mehdi with an amazing surgical shot surprised all three of them. Funny that although a different position in the box Sardar also had two defenders closing on him and goalie ready for his shot yet his clinical made a goal. Could it get better than this that our two world class strikers are at their prime in Europe right before start of the WC AFC Round 3 qualifiers?

Did everyone see that defensive move from Mehdi near the end of the first half, controlling the ball high in the air with his foot away from the other team player and Porto goal and then a good pass out of the box? We are all aware of Mehdi's defensive prowess, yet this one was superb.
