Here is the UEFA ranking of the leagues. Of course this is one ranking yet it is the official European federation ranking. As you can seen France is above Portugal (5th and 6th respectively after the top 4) yet they are very close.

Mehdi few so so performance in CL and league and specially in CL game when he should have scored instead of that stupid pass(which made SC so mad) played against him.
Things can change fast but i don't think for now his position is as stable as it was last year or early in season.
Plus his goals are not as crucial as before. Lets not fool ourselves he is not performing as good as last year. He had lots of MOTM performance last season.

Taremi put in a lot of distance in CL games and mid season playing deep.

It's good that he gets some rest and despite that continues to score big goals.

He was also huge in their two really important games aganst benfica where they literally pushed themselves to first place and basically took them out of the title race.

It's absolutely asinine to say what some are saying here. But that's OK.

Mehdi's numbers at Porto speak for themselves and I would argue that he is still their most important player - although Luis Diaz also has a strong claim as well. There stats are close but Diaz still makes boneheaded decisions whereas Mehdi makes much, much less. But it's between these two. No one else is close.

Something Porto is desperately missing as the only guys who can create anything for them consistently are Diaz and Taremi.
